Part 2: Wait times and Hydration

Different formulas reach their final thickness at different speeds. Thus, wait time is built into the recipe to allow the GELMIX to fully hydrate and stabilize.

For example, Alimentum ready to feed, Nutrimagen, and Elecare all have the same mildly thick liquids.

However, they all have different wait times.
* Alimentum RTF - 5 minutes
* Nutrimagen - 10-15 minutes
* EleCare - 20 minutes

The wait time changes due to the following:
1. Protein structure
2. Minerals
3. Hydration

Part 1: Thickening with Elecare

🍼 Tip #1: Always let thickened EleCare sit for 20 minutes before feeding.

✔️ Mix well
✔️ Wait 20 minutes
✔️ Re-check consistency before feeding

🍼 Tip #2: Refer to specific recipes on Gelmix website.

🔺Slightly Thick: 2.4g Gelmix + 4 oz Elecare
🔺 Mildly Thick: 2.4g Gelmix + 3 oz Elecare
🔺 Moderately Thick: 2.4g Gelmix + 2 oz Elecare

🍼 Tip #3: Ensure formula is heated to body temperature or 98.6 or about 100 degrees.

Wait until you see PART 2, which explains why GELMIX recipes have wait times and why some formulas take longer to thicken than others. 👀

We made the most delicious carrot fries tonight!

-Peel and cut carrots into stick shapes
-Toss in olive oil and salt
-Air fry on 400 degrees for 15 minutes

We gave these a 10/10! 🥕
