OT-Kids is owned and managed by Kristi J. Kristi is a licensed occupational therapist specializing in the area of pediatrics. A graduate of Quinnipiac University in 2002, she has practiced her speciality in various pediatric settings including schools, clinical and home based and she has experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Specializing in sensory motor, fine motor and handwriting skills, Kristi is best known for her creativity and energetic approach to working with children. She has extensive training in the area of sensory processing disorder and the most modern occupational therapy treatment techniques. In 2008, Kristi was awarded with Handwriting Without Tears Level I Certification and is an expert in the area of fine motor and handwriting skills and interventions. In 2010 she received certification in Therapeutic Listening and currently designs and implements home based listening programs to compliment a childβs OT program. Kristi is also a certified pediatric yoga instructor. Kristi has used her expertise to regularly educate and train teachers, educational support staff and other therapists on how to implement effective handwriting support to children in various school settings. In 2008 she was awarded the Creative Classroom Mini Grant by the Stamford CT Chamber of Commerce, allowing her to create a handwriting program for children grades K-5 in the Stamford Public Schools, who were struggling with handwriting mechanics, but did not otherwise qualify for special education intervention.
