Thank you Nomad Nursing LLC! They have donated a gift certificate for our Sixth Annual Greene Care Clinic Holiday Auction (which starts the Friday after Thanksgiving, right here on our page) - it is for a DCA (direct care aide) class, which will be a wonderful opportunity for someone in our community! Nomad Nursing not only helps facilities and people who need in-home care connect with qualified professionals, but they also help to educate future health care professionals. We have been so impressed by their energy, community spirit and professionalism - if you aren't familar with them, please check them out - we are fortunate to have Nomad Nursing LLC in Greene County!

A counselor from The Women's Initiative, Jada Edwards, MA, will be joining us at BETTER TOGETHER - A Chronic Disease Management Support Group for Greene Co. this evening (Tuesday, Oct 28) at 6 pm, and we will discuss the importance of our mental health. We've talked about the benefits of good nutrition, exercise, cancer screenings, and more -- but it is also so important to be aware of our mental health. This should be an interesting and helpful conversation - come with questions!

πŸŽ‰We have some good news!πŸŽ‰

The Greene Care Clinic has received a grant from The Power of Change, thanks to the generosity of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative member-owners who round up their bills to support local nonprofits. Thank you for believing in our work!

This grant will help us purchase several Windows 11-compatible computers for our clinic, so we will be able to keep our patient data secure. We're honored to be selected! Together with this support we can do great things for our community. πŸ’™

Proudly Serving Uninsured Residents of Greene County, Virginia

In April 2005, a group of Greene County residents began meeting to discuss how to help their neighbors who did not have health insurance.

It was realized that many uninsured Greene County citizens were using distant hospital emergency rooms for their health care, and many could not afford to buy their medications. It was estimated then that about 1,800 people in the County were uninsured, and were not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare. So the decision was made to start an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) clinic in Greene County to serve the uninsured.

Our mission is to provide quality free healthcare to residents of Greene County who are uninsured and whose income is below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. For more details on eligibility, see the graphic below and go to our website: https://www.greenecareclinic.org/eligibility
