As 2025 comes to a close, we look back at a year of compassionate individuals working together to provide the best health care possible for our patients. We also celebrated 20 years of providing care in Greene County at Blossom Ridge Farm, we had longtime members of our team retire, and we had new faces join our team. We went bear-crazy at the Virginia Black Bear Festival (what fun!), hosted a Greene County Chamber of Commerce event, and painted for an afternoon at The Greene Hills Club. BETTER TOGETHER - A Chronic Disease Management Support Group for Greene Co. continued to meet (what a lovely group of people!). Our Community Medical Supply Closet continued to help provide free durable medical supplies to our community. We ended the year with our annual Holiday Auction and once again, Santa stopped by for his Pre-Flight Physical (he passed!). What these photos don't show are the patients that walked through our doors - patients who we helped manage chronic and acute conditions, patients who we provided important medications, patients who we scheduled for critical cancer screenings, imaging and referrals, and signed up for mental health counseling. At the end of each day, what we do is help people the best we can. Our patients are our priority. We care for Greene County, and we look forward to continuing this important work in 2026.

Please take care of yourself, and be aware of those around you, especially those who might be at risk for more severe disease. Let's take care of one another.

Over much of the past year, the Greene Care Clinic has been fortunate to have four bright, compassionate and dedicated young people volunteering with us. What was their biggest contribution, you ask? They made us feel like the future is in great hands! We wish them all the best as they make big decisions in the coming months.

It sure was fun having Santa drop by our Community Medical Supply Closet the week before Christmas - he said he'd volunteer at the Closet if the North Pole was a bit closer to Greene County! Our Community Medical Supply Closet will be OPEN tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 27) from 10 am - 11 am. Please stop by if you need something. All are welcome and all items are available for free. The Closet is located on Ford Ave, in Stanardsville, across from the Courthouse.

It's scary not having a primary care provider that you can reach out to when you need them. Please remember that you don't have to be unwell to reach out to us - we love when new patients want to establish a relationship with us and schedule a wellness exam. If you've been procrastinating checking out our eligibility guidelines, you can do so here (where you can also find a link to our new patient application): https://www.greenecareclinic.org/eligibility . We hope we hear from you. 💙

We wish each of you a warm, peaceful, and safe holiday season.

The video of Santa's annual visit to the Greene Care Clinic is now uploaded to YouTube - Santa had a lovely time last week, celebrating that he passed his Pre-Flight Physical and visiting folks in Stanardsville, Virginia. There were a lot of smiles and big hugs! Before he departed for the North Pole, Santa said "There are a lot of people on the Nice List in Greene County!". We agree. Merry Christmas Eve to all. ✨

Proudly Serving Uninsured Residents of Greene County, Virginia

In April 2005, a group of Greene County residents began meeting to discuss how to help their neighbors who did not have health insurance.

It was realized that many uninsured Greene County citizens were using distant hospital emergency rooms for their health care, and many could not afford to buy their medications. It was estimated then that about 1,800 people in the County were uninsured, and were not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare. So the decision was made to start an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) clinic in Greene County to serve the uninsured.

Our mission is to provide quality free healthcare to residents of Greene County who are uninsured and whose income is below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. For more details on eligibility, see the graphic below and go to our website: https://www.greenecareclinic.org/eligibility
