Congratulations to Dr. Pugh!

Congratulations to Dr. Carla Pugh for being selected one of the 2019 Olga Jonasson Distinguished Member Award recipients!

The award is named in memory of Olga Jonasson, MD who was the first female chair of an academic department of surgery and a leader in the American College of Surgeons. The award is given to an Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) member who, through outstanding mentorship, enables and encourages women surgeons to realize their personal and professional goals.

The award will be formally presented at the AWS Foundation Awards Dinner on Monday, October 28, held in conjunction with the 2019 American College of Surgeons Annual Clinical Congress.

Congratulations to Dr. Carla Pugh! Dr. Pugh was awarded the Best Plenary Presenter award at Surgical Education Week 2019 . Dr. Pugh's abstract was titled: "Use of Error Management Theory to Quantify and Characterize Residents’ Error Recovery Strategies."

Yesterday, the TECI Center had the privilege of hosting a group of talented undergraduate students from Google's Tech Exchange program and San Francisco State University's PINC program. We explored the world of academic research, the intersection of medicine and tech, passions vs callings, career goals, and more! Such a fun, enriching time!
