April is Child Abuse Awareness Month 💙
Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and protected. This month, we stand together to raise awareness, support prevention efforts, and remind our community that we all play a role in keeping children safe.
Know the signs:
• Unexplained injuries or frequent bruising
• Sudden changes in behavior or mood
• Fear of going home or being around certain individuals
• Neglect of basic needs (hygiene, clothing, nutrition)
If you suspect child abuse, take action:
🔹Ensure the child is in immediate safety. If there is urgent danger, call 911.
🔹Report concerns to your state’s child abuse hotline.
🔹Provide as much detail as possible (names, location, concerns).
You can report anonymously in many cases.
In Kentucky, you can report suspected abuse or neglect by calling the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-877-KYSAFE1 (1-877-597-2331).
Speaking up could save a child’s life. If you see something, say something.
💙 Together, we can make a difference.
