New CGM study in San Francisco near Mascone Center

Simulated use only – participants will provide feedback on a new CGM system but will not wear a sensor/any device components
There are no CGM insertions or needle sticks

You do not need to own a CGM to qualify

When: April 6-11 or April 13-19th
Time commitment: 3 hours

Guardian must be present

What: Medtronic Artificial Pancreas 670G insulin pump
Enlite 3 continuous glucose monitor
Who: Type 1 diabetes
Ages 18-40
Have been wearing an insulin pump for at least 3 months

When: 3-7 days of baseline CGM data, and then 5 days (4
nights) of wearing the system and sleeping in a hotel.
Stanford staff accompanies you to work or activities
Where: hotel near Stanford University

Reimbursement: $75 for the enrollment visit and $75 for each night completed while wearing the 670G system either post-enrollment or in the hotel setting.

Seeking adults for Bionic Pancreas study
Who: over 18 on insulin pump
• Live with another adult who is willing to participate as a designated contact
• Employee or student working or studying at Stanford or within a mile of Stanford campus
• Live/sleep within a 30 minute drive-time radius of Stanford campus during each of the 11-day study arms
• Willing to remain within a 60 minute drive-time radius of Stanford campus during each of the 11-day study arms
• Use an insulin pump (for at least the past 6 months)

You will be asked to complete:
• A Screening visit (2 hour) to determine if you are eligible
• A Training visit (3 hours) to learn how to use the bionic pancreas
• Two 11 day study periods in random order:


Bionic Pancreas Period
• Wear the bionic pancreas for 11 days
• 2 Study Visits and 2 Phone Calls
• Daily Email Surveys

Usual Care Period
• Wear a CGM for 11 days
• 2 Study Visits and 2 Phone Calls
• Daily Email Surveys

You will be paid to participate:
• $50 for screening visit, $1200 for completing both study arms
• Your designated contact will get $50 for screening visit and $200 for being available by phone to reach you if needed during each study period
