They won GOLD! 🥇 Congratulations to Anne Kincaid and Ken Buzard for winning first place in the Greater Gaston Senior Games Silver Arts Showcase for their handmade works. Both won in the Heritage Arts category for crochet 🧶

It was a delight to see ALL the different handmade items that were submitted and inspired us to possibly "sweep the categories" next year!

Part of our marketing team was out and about this morning hosting "Bingo With A Twist" for the seniors of the Mt. Holly Sole Patrol. This wasn't your basic bingo, it included range of motion exercises and a whole lot of FUN! Thank you to the Mount Holly Parks and Recreation for allowing us to come and host this interactive and engaging program for your seniors. We were also thrilled to see one of our successful rehab patients, LeJean, with a smile on her face waiting for hugs when we arrived! 🍩🙌🏻💜

Our Director of Independent Living at The Parke took the leap today as he closed a big chapter in his life, retiring from STLC/The Parke after 15 amazing years (5 in the maintenance dept at STLC and 10 managing our independent living apartments). We congratulate Glen Wriston on this next chapter as he hopefully gets the chance to slow down a little and relax a lot because he sure has earned it! We have been honored to work with Glen and send him all our love and well wishes ❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉

The Gaston Gazette 2026 Best of The Best Community Choice Awards opens for voting TODAY and we are so proud to say that Stanley Total Living Center has been nominated in the top 5 in 5 different categories including best Senior Living facility, Non-Profit Organization, Customer Service, Employer for 101 to 500 employees, and Place to Work.

In addition to these nominations, there are also 5 individual staff members named in the top 5 in various categories which include:

Best Physical Therapist—Angee Lockman
Best Boss—our Administrator Jennifer DeFelice and our Assistant Director of Nursing Candice Bess
Best Nurse—our Director of Nursing Sandra Mull and our Assistant Director of Nursing Candice Bess
Person of the Year—our Chaplain Tim Barton

Please mark your calendars to remind you to vote each day starting today through Thursday, March 19th—all votes are greatly appreciated not only by the facility as a great way to market our services to our local community but to show each of these individuals how much everything they do means.

This will then allow you to register prior to making your 1st vote and will then send you a personal link to use for daily voting moving forward. Senior Games, Sewing & Sorting: We don't know about you... but we are so grateful we survived what seems like the LONGEST February in history! We are definitely ready for a peek of Spring 🌼

We've kept ourselves busy by signing up for the Greater Gaston Senior Games, finishing up some sewing projects and have now moved onto collecting individually wrapped candies so we can stuff a gazillion Easter eggs. Please join us in the crusade for more candy AND if you'd like to help stuff eggs, get in touch!

“Laissez les bons temps rouler” Happy Mardi Gras! It was a festive party today in our 400 neighborhood with a fun photo shoot and a healthy serving of King cake. Our Director of Activity programming was lucky enough to find the baby in her piece which means good luck all year for 2026!
