Sharon Irene McIntosh, age 72, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Wi******er, Kentucky. She was born on Monday, April 27, 1953, in Garden City, Michigan, to the late Lloyd Lynch and the late Hazel Ruby Williams Lynch Tincher. Sharon was a beloved member of the Irvine Free Methodist Church, known for her warmth and kindness. She enjoyed riding her Tennessee Walking Horses with her husband and taking car rides, exploring the scenic back roads together. In the kitchen, Sharon was a talented cook, especially famous for her homemade biscuits, a skill she learned from her Granny Mae, who also taught her valuable life lessons. She worked at the Irvine Health Care and Rehabilitation Center and Hardee's, sharing her love of cooking with those around her. Sharon adored spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. Her infectious smile and warm hugs could brighten any room, and her upbeat spirit made her a true joy to be around, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Danny McIntosh, and one brother, Greg Lynch. She is survived by one son, Danny (Glenna) McIntosh of Stanton; one daughter, Michelle (Erin) Tipton of Georgetown; two brothers, Bill (Debbie) Lynch and David Lynch, both of Irvine; four sisters: Shirley Riddell of Somerset, and Judy (Wayne) Riddell, Clara Lynch, and Marie Lynch, all of Irvine; four grandchildren: Danny Glen McIntosh, Nolan McIntosh, Keithen Tipton, and Hannah Tipton; and one great-grandchild, Carmen Estepp. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Terry Barnes and Pastor Josh Pack will be held at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 7:00 P.M. Honorary pallbearers are John Nolan, Willie Nolan, Terry Barnes, Blain Click, and The Golden Girls. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.

Rachel Ellen Drake, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on Thursday, September 5, 1940, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Courtney Issac Roberts and the late Zola Pearl Neal Roberts. In her youth, Rachel embraced the hustle and bustle of the restaurant scene as a waitress at Dalton's and Bruen's Restaurants. Throughout her career, she dedicated years of service to Gale's Market and the Powell County Detention Center, worked tirelessly as a factory employee at C.M.S., and provided care and supervision as a bus monitor for Powell County Schools. Known for her skill as a seamstress, Rachel crafted beautiful garments with great precision and creativity. She loved games, often seen seated at the kitchen table, laughter filling the air as she played dominoes or various card games with family and friends. Rachel's upbeat personality was truly a beacon of light; she always wore a warm smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Generosity defined her spirit, as she frequently went out of her way to lend a helping hand to those in need. Family was at the heart of Rachel's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her bond with her siblings was particularly special, filled with warmth and love. Deeply rooted in her faith, Rachel eagerly participated in church activities at Stanton Christian Church, always seeking the community and connection her spiritual life offered. In addition to her parents, Rachel is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cecil Drake; her daughter, Teresa Pearl Kennon; two brothers: John Wayne Roberts and Charles Roberts; four sisters: Bonnie Crabtree, Phyllis McIntosh, Linda Thorpe, and Pearline Brewer; one grandchild, Zack Charles; and one great-grandchild, Danika Leighton Charles. She is survived by two sons, Carlton Issac (Carolyn Arvin) Drake, and Charles "Punkin" Drake both of Stanton; two brothers: Courtney (Geanne) Isaac Roberts, Jr. and J.C. (Judy) Roberts both of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Vickie Asch of Stanton; six grandchildren: John Cecil Drake, Joshua (Jessica) Charles Drake, Jessica Charles, Holly Drake, Heather Drake, and Emily Charles; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Greg Webb will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Burial will be held at Drake Cemetery in Stanton, with John Cecil Drake, Joshua Charles Drake, Gary Lee Asch, Larry Drake, Ricky Roberts, Travis Crabtree, Neal Hamilton, and David Arvin serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gale Means, Judy Means, James Townsend, Charlie Crabtree, and Timothy Frazier. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice East. Eldoria "Dody" Johnson, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her daughter's home in Andersonville, Tennessee. She was born on Saturday, March 12, 1938, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Jessie Mountz McKinney and the late Eunice Wells McKinney. Dody was a cherished lifelong resident of Powell County, whose heart was deeply intertwined with the community she served. Known for her inviting smile and warm spirit, she dedicated much of her life to the culinary arts, bringing joy to those around her through her cooking at Mildred’s Diner, Clay City Restaurant, Cotton’s Restaurant, and as the former owner of Bruen's Restaurant in Stanton. Dody found immense joy in singing Bluegrass Gospel music, her beautiful voice resonating with the heartbeats of her family and friends, and watching their smiles blossom as they enjoyed her meals, which brought her great happiness and a deep sense of pride. Central to her life were the pillars of Family and Faith. As the seventh of sixteen siblings, Dody's upbringing was rich in camaraderie and love. She had a special bond with her brothers and sisters, and when surrounded by family, her eyes lit up with affection and joy. Dody's family was her greatest treasure, and she relished the moments spent with them, creating lifelong memories and sharing much laughter with her playful sense of humor. A devoted believer, she found strength and purpose in her faith, embracing every opportunity to serve the Lord and her community with love. In addition to her parents, Dody is preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Ellen Wasson; four brothers: David Anderson McKinney, Kendall McKinney, William Franklin McKinney, and Farrell Ray McKinney; and eight sisters: Mildred Estes, Laverne Tharpe, Thelma Bishop, Wilma Bishop, Jeanette Charles, Irene Olinger, Dorothy Mae McKinney, and Beulah Ann McKinney. She is survived by five daughters: Eunice Marlene Wasson and Zaundra Gail Swanson, both of Nancy, Kentucky, Martha Lorraine (Barry) Morton of Andersonville, Tennessee, Annitta Irene Lykins of Ohio, and Thelma "Shamo" (James) Creech of Stanton, Kentucky; three sisters: Kathlene Rogers of Stanton, Janet Flippo of Clay City, and Berneice Wills of Wi******er; seventeen grandchildren: LaRain, Rhonda, Amy, Tracy, Jessica, Travis, Eldoria Irene, Farrell Ray, Adam, Bonnie, Johnna, Ben, Tabitha, Tara, Devon, David Keith, and Christopher; forty-seven great-grandchildren; and twenty great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. George Sparks will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Burial will be held at Stonegate Cemetery in Stanton, Kentucky, with David Keith Yeary, Adam Morton, Travis Fugate, Farrell Ray Fugate, Michael Long, and Jeramie Long serving as active pallbearers. John Kerry King, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home in Stanton, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, May 2, 1948, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late English King and the late Mattie Willoughby King. John worked at Southern States, Bundy Tubing, and Kentucky Auto Parts through the years. He was very hardworking and strongly committed to his beliefs. John was dependable and someone who could always be counted on. He was always willing to help anyone who was in need. John was a dedicated to***co farmer and cut hay for his horses. He was renowned for his exceptional skills as a horse trainer and breaker. John's deep-seated passion for horseback riding took him across sprawling fields and sun-drenched trails, where he felt most at home. In his later years, he relished the camaraderie of wagon-trail rides, guiding teams of majestic horses through beautiful landscapes. As a young man, he often indulged his adventurous spirit in raccoon hunting, forging unforgettable memories under starry skies. At his farm, the highlight of the year was the annual pig roast, a lively gathering that showcased John's culinary skills and brought together friends and family to celebrate with laughter, music, and delicious food. He found joy in the simple rhythms of rural life. John's greatest treasure, however, was the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John cherished sharing his wealth of knowledge and his profound love for horses, fostering a legacy that would inspire future generations. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wierman King; three brothers: Donald King, Thomas King, Equillis King; and two sisters: Janet Meadows and Bonnie Jean Morton. He is survived by two sons: Kelly (Lynn) King of Stanton, and Brandon King of Clay City; two daughters: Loretta Whitaker of Stanton, and Shannon (Rick) Ballard of Lancaster; two brothers: Bedford King of Stanton, and Chester (Janet) King of Mount Sterling; six sisters: Vina Morton of Clay City, Alta (Arnold) Roach of West Carrollton, Ohio, Olga (Roger) Sullivan of Falmouth, Margaret (Eugene) Collett of Hamilton, Ohio, Marsha (Eddie) McCoy, and Mable McIntosh both of Stanton; eight grandchildren: Samantha (Stephen) Adams, Hannah Whitaker, Stacy King, Sydney King, Alicia (Jamison) Teater, Kaitlyn Smith, Scotty (Chelsea) King, Waylon King: and nine great-grandchildren: Emersyn Adams, Raegan Adams, Jaxon Teater, Ellie Kate Cook, Lydia Farmer, Ivy Lanham, Paisley Wilson, Luna King, Cyrus King. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Adams, Rick Shastid, Mary Kaye Eades, his nieces and nephews, and his horseback riding friends. A pig roast memorial will be held on his farm on May 2, 2026, to celebrate his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
