At Samaritan Way, people sometimes ask why we check in on social media and ask, “Do you need help?” nearly every every single day.

Because needs change.Because yesterday’s strength can feel like today’s struggle.Because sometimes the hardest words to say are, “Yes… I do.”

Recovery isn’t a straight line. Some days people feel strong and hopeful. Other days feel heavy, lonely, and overwhelming. By asking every day, we create a space where it’s always okay to be honest …without shame, without judgment, and without fear of being a burden.

Sometimes the person who said “I’m good” yesterday is barely holding on today. And sometimes knowing someone will ask is the very thing that keeps someone going.

❤️ If you’re reading this and you need help today — even if you didn’t yesterday — please reach out. You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the first step.

We’re here. Every day. For you.

Many people never imagined they would struggle with substance use disorder — yet today, more and more individuals are finding themselves trapped by products like Kratom and 7OH.These substances are becoming known by some as “gas station heroin” because of their powerful addictive properties and how easy they are to obtain. What often begins as a search for more energy, focus, or what feels like “safer” pain relief can quickly turn into something much harder to control. Many people report intense, painful, and agonizing withdrawal symptoms when they try to stop.

If you or someone you love feels stuck, please know this: You are not alone, and there is a way out.

At Samaritan Way, we are here to walk alongside you — without judgment — and help you find real solutions for lasting recovery and freedom from the bo***ge these substances can create.

If you need help, reach out.
We will help you find a path forward.
We will help you find hope again.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest celebration days in our culture — but for many people in recovery, it can also be one of the hardest.

Events like the Super Bowl are heavily tied to alcohol culture. In fact, Americans consume hundreds of millions of gallons of beer during the Super Bowl each year, and it’s widely considered one of the biggest drinking days in the United States.

Major celebrations and holidays can increase relapse risk because of:
• Social pressure to drink
• Increased stress and emotional triggers
• Changes in routine and structure
• Easy access to substances
These factors are known to increase temptation and relapse risk, especially during holidays and major events.

For someone in recovery, moments like this can feel isolating — like the whole world is celebrating something that nearly cost them their life.

That’s why support systems matter.
Having safe places, sober events, recovery communities, and people who understand can make the difference between isolation and connection — between relapse and recovery.

You are not weak for needing support.
You are strong for choosing recovery — especially on days like this.

If today feels heavy, reach out. Recovery was never meant to be done alone. MARA is here to help connect you to resources, people, and support across Michigan.

Visit us at 115 1/2 S Lafayette St. Greenville MI 48838 Samaritan Way: Greenville to celebrate the Super Bowl with an awesome team of recovery focused friends.
