Almost one year ago we received our grant from Starkville Community Foundation and 100 Women Who Care to provide intakes and individual therapy services to those without health insurance or the ability to pay out of pocket for those services. These funds were utilized to provide 95 therapy sessions for 40 individuals in Oktibbeha County. We were able to then utilize state funded grants to help those individuals also receive psychiatric services from our prescribing doctors, as well as community support services to help them with housing, finding employment, obtaining food security and resources, and applying for health care, among other things. We cannot describe how valuable these funds were for us to be able to bridge the gaps that exist in access to mental health care.

Thankful that Starkville Community Foundation and 100 Women Who Care helped us support individuals in working through mental health struggles without having to feel the barrier of not having healthcare or financial means to afford therapy.

Data on how many sessions were provided and individuals served will be coming up soon, stay tuned!

We are hosting a Food Drive benefiting Starkville Strong - Better Together until February 13th. The work we do every day would be difficult without the help and efforts that Starkville Strong provides to not only our clients, but our entire community. Help us show support to an organization that does so much for Starkville!

Residents of Oktibbeha County,

The winter storm remains in effect. Due to icy conditions and low visibility, please avoid all unnecessary travel. Hazardous weather may delay emergency response times.

If you lose power, stay warm by layering clothing and closing unused rooms. Please ensure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are functional, keep space heaters away from flammables, and never leave heaters or candles unattended.

Please check on elderly or less mobile neighbors via phone, text, or a knock at the door if possible. You may also contact our non-emergency number with specific concerns.

Additionally, the Oktibbeha County Safe Room is open for anyone needing shelter from the weather.

For updates, please follow the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department and EMA pages or download our mobile app.

It’s Kanecka’s last day at CCS! She’s served our agency and our clients for 17 years, and we are so grateful to have had her for this long. We are sad to see her go, but excited as she enters this next stage of living and can’t wait to see what her 2026 has in store for her!
