With Halloween coming up, it's always a good idea to have a refresher on candy safety for our kiddos! Children less than 4 years old should avoid hard candies (peppermints, Jolly Ranchers, butterscotch, etc.), candy corn, small candies (Skittles, M&Ms, jelly beans, etc.), candy/caramel apples, popcorn, pumpkin seeds, and whole nuts due to choking hazards! Try safer options like larger treats that can melt in their mouth I.e., candy bars, peanut butter cups, cookies, and cakes!

As you can SEA, last night went SWIMMINGLY at the annual Trick or Treating on Hospital Road! We loved seeing so many of our friends and families in the Halloween spirit. Oh, and Dr. Ruff plays a great King Triton! We love making going to the doctor’s office fun for our kiddos!

We are excited to welcome Brianna to our nursing team! Oh, and it's her birthday, let's hear it for Brianna! Bri received her BSN at Delta State University. She enjoys spending time with my husband, family, and doing puzzles! She has always wanted to work with children, so joining the SPC team is a perfect fit. She says that being able to watch children grow and help them to feel better is a true blessing!

Our team at Starkville Pediatric Clinic is excited to provide Beyfortus, a monoclonal antibody vaccine that protects our youngest and most vulnerable patients against RSV! This vaccine is highly recommended by us, the CDC, and AAP for our littlest patients - newborn to 8 months old!
