Hi everyone! If you’re signed up for Saturday’s tulip watercolor class at Burket Farm, I have some sad news! We have to cancel the class because of Mother Nature! The weather has just been too warm and the tulips are past their peak. It’s a sad decision because I know how many of you were looking forward to painting among the tulips this weekend. I didn’t think you’d have quite the same experience without the tulips. I’ll be sending out an email and processing refunds tonight!

Stay tuned for other outdoor watercolor classes this summer!

A mandala, start to finish ✨

I’ll be honest—there were moments in this piece where I wasn’t sure it was going to come together. But I kept going… and in the end, I really love how it turned out.

That’s the thing about mandalas—they invite you to slow down, stay present, and trust the process. Creating them brings me a deep sense of calm and peace.

And no, it’s not perfect. But that’s the beauty of hand-drawn mandalas. If you want perfection, use an iPad. If you want art, presence, and wellness… this is it 💛

Two exciting watercolor workshops are coming up in April!

On April 18, we will have a fundraiser for Unbounded Abilities, which helps give meaningful art-related work to individuals with disabilities. We’ll have a cozy evening painting watercolor flowers at the Rivet.

And on April 25, we’ll be at Burket Farm in Tyrone painting tulips among the tulips. Fingers crossed for blue skies and sunshine! This is one of my favorite workshops of the year!

Hope to see you at these events!

Such a lovely night at The Rivet and Discovery Space for Crafts & Cocktails ✨

We explored neurographic art, an intuitive drawing practice developed by psychologist Pavel Piskarev. Using flowing lines, softened edges, and watercolor, it’s a simple way to process thoughts, reduce stress, and gently support mental wellbeing.

But what stood out most tonight wasn’t quiet meditation…it was connection. People sat together, laughed, shared space, and created alongside friends. Some stayed and painted for a long time, just enjoying the process.

Every piece was completely different. Every person brought something of their own to the page. ❤️❤️❤️

The world feels really hard right now. And the truth is…there’s not a lot most of us can do to change that big picture. But ease doesn’t have to be complicated.

It can be a simple brushstroke.
Watching watercolor move across the page. Looking at something beautiful and actually letting yourself pause.

Hearing the birds outside.

The pure joy of your dog just existing.

These moments are small—but they’re not nothing.

They’re how we take care of ourselves inside all of this.

When you feel the overwhelm creeping in, don’t try to solve everything.

Just find one moment of ease.
Start there. 🤍

P.S. This is Maya. She makes me smile every single day. 💕

My next workshop is on March 22 at the Rivet where we will be playing with wax! Yes, this is a totally new workshop for me, so I’m keeping it small this time. Only 6 total spots available. I started playing with making was seals a couple of months ago and became obsessed. They are so fun to make and it’s easy to be successful.

For those of you who know that I focus on wellness in my classes, you may wonder how this fits in. Is it art? Maybe, maybe not. But it doesn’t matter! It’s creating with your hands which is good for our mental health. Plus there is some patience needed that comes with the satisfaction of seeing our creations come to life. I find it very therapeutic! Plus, you can stick the seals on a hand-written letter and share the joy!

Hope to see you there! Registration is at the Rivet website. Link in bio.

There's something deeply captivating about art that fosters peace, introspection, and wonder. Ansel Adams' masterful photographs of Yosemite are a testament to this power. The study of neuroaesthetics is now uncovering what artists have long understood: art has a profound impact on our brain. As research confirms the importance of art for our well-being, we're reminded that it's the fifth pillar of our health. Prioritize experiencing and creating art - it's essential for our overall well-being.
