When you are stuck in blaming yourself, you cannot move forward. Your energy is wasted in highlighting mistakes instead of finding path out of them. Because of that, we feel beaten down and weak.
The ancient texts praise the virtue called akฤrpaแนya. It means, donโt make yourself miserable and small when you face difficulties. If we keep criticizing ourselves, we can only be miserable. Instead, accept yourself as you are in the present. Be kind to yourself. This will free you from that cycle of blaming yourself. Then you can expand and grow beyond the past mistakes, with new actions and new patterns.
