We are adding a Part-Time Program Coordinator to our team!

At Foxdale Village, Life Enrichment is about creating moments of joy, connection, and purpose and our team feels that impact every day. “As a Program Coordinator at Foxdale, I love working closely with residents and their families. Every day is a rewarding day when seeing residents smile and enjoy meaningful programs,” shares Larissa. In this new part-time role, you’ll design and implement group, individual, and independent programs tailored to residents’ interests and well-being, encourage participation, and support resident engagement through thoughtful, personalized opportunities.

For Brooke, Life Enrichment Supervisor, the work is deeply fulfilling because it’s both resident-focused and team-centered. “I get to create meaningful programs that reflect each resident’s needs and enhance their well-being. It’s even more rewarding to do this alongside such a supportive, passionate team who make every day enjoyable and impactful for our residents.”

Yesterday’s Penn State Retirees Association March meeting was treated to a performance by The Hi-Lo’s in the Foxdale Village Auditorium. A select ensemble from the Penn State Glee Club, the Hi-Lo’s, founded in 1934, delighted the audience with their signature a ca****la sound under the direction of Christopher Kiver, Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities. They performed fan favorites such as “Sweet Caroline,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” and “Fields of Gold” by Sting.

A group of Foxdale residents recently enjoyed a 3-part watercolor workshop led by local artist Lena Thynell, whose work was just featured in a show at Foxdale’s second-floor art gallery.

Inspired by winter scenes, participants began with a gallery walk and artist talk, then moved into the studio to paint across three two-hour sessions. Along the way, they explored essential watercolor techniques from planning light and dark values and working wet-on-wet, to building strong compositions, textures, and confident shadows.

Thank you to Lena for sharing her artistry and guidance with our Foxdale community! We look forward to having you back!
