Wellness in Motion is an intimate yoga studio, located at 2541 East College Avenue, State College PA (Suite 104). We offer smaller class sizes, a welcoming atmosphere, judgement-free zone, and a community feel. Sure, yoga will help increase your strength, flexibility and balance, but we also provide an opportunity for you to connect with your mind, body and breath. Experience yoga, taught in an atmosphere of safety and acceptance. Learn how to turn inward and find your own pace and way of being. Reduce stress, free physical tension, and connect to your inner wisdom on a deeper level. Wellness in Motion offers classes for every body - all ability levels and all ages. Our younger yogis will find their class offerings under the youth yoga tab (top right). Information on our regular, weekly adult yoga classes can be found under the classes and events tab. We know that some people enjoy moving slowly and others enjoy moving more quickly, so our classes range from Gentle Yoga to Power Flow Yoga with a little of everything in between. We look forward to meeting you at the studio!

Qigong for World Peace & Self-Healing

In this special Qigong class, we will use the power of intention to heal and clear feelings of anger and sadness, and to generate kindness, love, and peace β€” empowering us to extend them outward into the world.

In Qigong, the forces of Heaven, Humans, and Earth govern the state of our world and the perceptions and actions that shape it. When humans are out of alignment with Heaven and Earth, it creates disharmony and things become chaotic. When we are in alignment with Heaven and Earth, we become an open conduit between these two forces, creating harmony and balance.

Twisting, side bending, flexing and extending are all normal, natural spinal movements. You are likely to do all of the above in a normal yoga class (and maybe even in a normal strength class).

But what happens when you have a spinal condition, like osteoporosis, disc herniation, or scoliosis, that is aggravated by one or more of those movements? Should you just stop exercising? Heck no!

Mandy's Spine Smart Strength class was created specifically for this population. Each 4-week session, we focus on
(roughly) 12 exercises - upper body and core on Tuesdays; lower body and core on Thursdays. All movements are neutral spine, and we focus strongly on identifying habitual, often unconscious, movement patterns that might be causing pain flare ups.

It's core day in Grounded Strength! We'll focus on the front, sides and back of the core.

New to Grounded Strength? No Worries!
It's a combo of yoga and strength training. We begin with yoga-esque mobility warms ups to lubricate the joints and get the blood flowing. Then we move to more traditional strength training movements. We typically pair exercises together into supersets, performing 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise. Once we complete our strengthening exercises, we finish with stretching and a short relaxation. All exercises can be performed using bodyweight or with the added resistance of dumbbells or resistance bands.
