Each year between November 13 – 19, people and organizations around the country participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help increase understanding about transgender people and the issues members of the community face.

Join LUPINE Wellness Center for a FREE virtual Transgender Awareness Webinar with graduate counseling interns Karah (she/her) and Rissa (they/them) on the final day of Transgender Awareness Week as we reflect on the importance of inclusion and prepare to honor the Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th. This webinar will offer guidance on using kind and inclusive language when engaging with the transgender community, explore the history and contributions of trans individuals within the broader LGBTQ+ movement, and highlight the origins and significance of the Day of Remembrance. We’ll also share resources to help participants recognize and support accurate, affirming media representations of transfolk.

This webinar is for all individuals (community members, students, faculty, staff) interested in a respectful and informational webinar.
All webinar participants agree to respectful conduct in the virtual webinar and understand that any inappropriate conduct will have them removed from the webinar.

The wellness wheel is a tool for self-exploration that promotes the concept that balance is the key to wellbeing. When it was first conceived by Dr. Bill Hettler, he outlined six dimensions of wellness as markers to help individuals accomplish a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle and live a life of value and meaning. Over time, the wheel has grown to include seven categories. Today, the dimensions on the wellness wheel include physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, environmental, social, and occupational wellness. These are all separate yet interconnected categories that contribute to reaching a balanced life.
