We only prescribe exercises we can do ourselves…
but our patients love making sure of that 😅💪 Nothing like a little friendly testing to keep our PTs on their A-game!

Drop a “❤️” if you can perform this exercise as well!

🩻 No brace. No outside interventions. 🚫🚫

Just targeted, consistent Schroth-based physical therapy - and the results (picture on the right) speak for themselves!

The Schroth based method isn’t about quick fixes - it’s about teaching the body to find space, balance, and stability through breath, postural correction, and active muscle engagement.

💪🏽 When the patients commit, the transformations are real! 💥

We are so proud of this progress and excited for what’s ahead! 👏🏼

Call us today to see if your child would benefit from this method!

This patient had mastered sit-to-stand transfers with an elevated surface in front of him. It gave him something to push off from—and made the movement feel safe. In fact, it became too easy.

But take that surface away? Suddenly, fear set in. Without something in front, he hesitated, leaned back, and resisted standing.

So our PT got creative. By sitting in front of him, she gave the illusion of support—just enough to make him feel secure—but without offering any upper body help. Instead, she provided subtle balance assistance using her feet placed on top of his, giving him the input and stability he needed to feel grounded.

A smart solution that built trust, promoted independence, and helped him face a big challenge with just the right amount of support.

✨ Progress happens when kids feel safe, supported, and understood. Learn how our therapists use play and connection to build confidence with every step.

Inchworm plank walkouts look simple—until you try them 🐛💥

In this clip, our kiddo is working hard on a movement that challenges way more than meets the eye. From the outside, it’s just walking hands out and back. But in physical therapy, this exercise is a tough one.

It demands serious core control to keep the body stable through the entire range. The shoulders and arms get a full-body workout as they support body weight during the walkout. And don’t forget the motor planning—coordinating each step, keeping balance, and knowing where the body is in space is a big deal, especially for growing kids.

It’s fun, functional, and tougher than it looks. Exactly how we like it.

👏 Have you ever tried inchworm walkouts? They’re harder than they look! Comment below if you’ve done them (or dare to try!).

This pediatric physical therapist is using a simple balloon to target multiple systems—building strength, coordination, balance, and motor planning through play-based movement.

🎥 Clip 1: Kicking the balloon challenges reaction time, single-leg stance, and dynamic balance. The child must quickly shift weight, stabilize on one leg, and respond to the unpredictable path of the balloon—great for postural control and motor planning.

🎥 Clip 2: Inclined sit-ups + balloon tosses = a powerful combo for core strengthening, visual-motor coordination, and engagement. The incline increases abdominal demand while the balloon adds timing, tracking, and an upper body coordination element.

🎥 Clip 3: Tapping the balloon with alternating hands works on upper extremity coordination, crossing midline, and chopping motions. These diagonal movements are key for trunk rotation and building shoulder stability—foundational for fine and gross motor skills.

Play-based therapy that’s fun, functional, and full of intention.

💪 Who knew a balloon could do so much? Comment below with your child’s favorite way to move and play!

What a night! 🎄🍝 Our Leaps and Bounds team had so much fun celebrating the upcoming holidays with a pasta-making party at Angelina’s Kitchen. We’re so grateful for this amazing group — the laughter, teamwork, and joy we share truly make our clinic feel like family. 💚

Don’t let the frog shapes fool you 🐸—these ‘stepping stones’ are serious tools for building postural control, core strength, and coordination.⠀

➡️ Anticipatory postural control is trained as the body prepares for each step—predicting distance, height, and shape.
➡️ Reactionary postural control kicks in when balance is challenged mid-step, helping the body recover quickly.
➡️ Engaging the core and lower extremities through dynamic movement supports stability and functional mobility.

Playful? Yes. Purposeful? Absolutely.

💪 Strength, balance, and fun—all in one session! Reach out to learn how pediatric PT can support your child’s movement goals.

Ever notice your child’s toes turning inward when they walk or run? 👣

It’s called in-toeing—and while it’s common in young kids, sometimes it can affect balance or coordination as they grow.

Our latest blog post breaks down what causes in-toeing, when to seek an evaluation, and how pediatric PT can help kids move with strength and confidence. 💪
