Walker Home Medical, Statesboro's only locally owned medical equipment company, is looking for a full-time Medical Equipment Delivery & Service Technician. Applicant must be physically capable of lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds and have a working knowledge of basic hand tools. Normal working hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, but this position is subject to On Call on a rotating basis and requires availability on nights and weekends. Medical equipment experience is a plus but is not required and training will be provided. Must have a clean driving record and background check. Cooler weather and the return of Pumpkin Spice latte’s signal the beginning of another Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment season! During this period, Medicare beneficiaries are free to enroll in or switch Medicare Advantage plans for coverage in 2026. There are 34 different Medicare Advantage plans available in the Bulloch County area, many with no premium cost, so it’s important to ask questions and choose wisely to ensure you get the best plan for you!
Keep in mind when looking at plans that if it’s listed as an HMO, it will have a network of providers that you must use for the lowest cost. Also, if you are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan but are considering switching to a different plan, any current equipment or supply rentals may require additional physician visits and requalification. When checking to see if your doctor is enrolled in the plan, be sure to check your medical equipment provider as well as your local hospital to avoid any out-of-pocket surprises in the future.
Finally, if you do change your insurance coverage, be sure to notify your home medical equipment provider of the change as well as your physician!

Melissa brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our respiratory services department having been a Registered Respiratory Therapist for over 20 years and a valued part of the Walker Home Medical team for more than a decade. Over those 10+ years, Melissa has personally guided thousands of local patients through their CPAP setup — one conversation, one fitting, one good night’s sleep at a time.

She’s a proud graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and Georgia Southern University (Armstrong Atlantic State University at the time), and she and her husband — also SEB and GSU grads — are raising their two kids right here in the SEB school system.

Melissa is known for her unmatched patient care and customer service. Every CPAP setup includes one full hour of her undivided attention — walking each patient through mask selection, machine operation, cleaning best practices, and compliance guidelines. Her patients consistently share how thorough, kind, and patient she is — because at Walker Home Medical, comfort and satisfaction come first.
