This morning, we were truly blessed by the kindness of Charles and Renee Cravy, who came to spend time with our residents leading a meaningful Devotion and Communion.

Even with their own busy schedules, they made time to be here—and that means more than words can express. Moments like these are so important. They allow our residents to continue taking part in the traditions and acts of faith that have been a meaningful part of their lives for so many years.

Something as sacred as Communion isn’t just a routine—it’s a connection to their past, their beliefs, and their hearts. And thanks to caring individuals like Charles and Renee, our residents are able to continue experiencing those moments.

We are incredibly grateful for your time, your compassion, and your willingness to serve. You made a difference today. ❤️

✨ Our residents here at Southern Manor have been BUSY! ✨

From singing on stage 🎤 to roller skating, bicycling, ice-skating, and even cooking up something special in the kitchen 👩‍🍳… they’ve been doing it all!

We’ve had a resident crowned like Queen Elizabeth 👑, one competing in a beauty pageant, another scoring a hole-in-one at the Masters ⛳, and even a few showing off their skills in kung fu, conducting music, driving a tractor, and yes… training like astronauts 🚀

The best part? Many of these adventures were chosen by the residents themselves—proving it’s never too late to dream big and have a little fun.

🤭 In honor of April Fools’ Day, we might have gotten just a little creative with these pictures… but the smiles, laughter, and incredible spirit behind them are 100% real. ❤️

Happy April Fools’ Day from all of us at Southern Manor! 🎉

On Friday, we had a wonderful time celebrating our March birthday babies! 🎉🎂

We enjoyed a delicious cake generously donated by our Statesboro Dairy Queen—such a sweet treat that made the day even more special! 💛

Of course, we also played our favorite birthday game, “Trophies,” the scores were very close, in fact we had a tie between two teams! Lots of laughs, fun, and a little friendly competition made for a perfect celebration.

We are so thankful for moments like these and for each of our amazing residents who make every day a gift. 💕

We got a little creative this week! 🎨

The other day, our residents worked with air-dry clay to shape and design their very own trinket dishes. Today, once they were completely dry, we brought them to life by adding beautiful napkin designs using Mod Podge.

Each piece turned out so unique and special—just like the hands that made them. 💛 We love seeing creativity shine in so many different ways!

This afternoon, our residents enjoyed a wonderful Show & Share, and what a meaningful time it was! 💛

We had the opportunity to learn so much about one another through the fascinating items and stories that were shared. One resident read a beautiful poem she had written, which truly touched everyone in the room. Another resident shared her story of becoming a “sharp shooter”—something she didn’t even begin until after retiring from teaching! She became so skilled that an article was written about her. How amazing is that?

We also saw a very special tablecloth made from chicken feed sacks by one resident’s mother—complete with matching napkins! This treasured piece is estimated to be around 80 years old and was such a unique glimpse into the past.

Other residents shared a plant she has lovingly grown and cared for over many years, a cherished childhood Bible, and stories of being featured in publications as a proud Georgia Southern fan from the Class of 1957. We even admired a beautiful handcrafted wreath made by one of our very talented and creative residents.

Two of our residents also proudly shared a stunning 300-piece puzzle of a cardinal that they completed together. It was especially challenging because it had no traditional edges—the entire puzzle was shaped like a cardinal! They even glued and framed it, and it turned out absolutely beautiful.

Even those who forgot to bring an item still enjoyed being part of the fun, and together we shared laughter, memories, and meaningful moments.

It was truly a special afternoon full of connection, storytelling, and learning more about the incredible lives and talents within our community. 💗

Our front porch renovation is almost complete—we’re just waiting on the finishing touch of the handrails!

In the meantime, we’re happy to share that the front door is officially open and ready to welcome visitors again. Even better, our favorite front porch greeter has proudly returned to his post and is already back to doing what he does best—welcoming everyone with a smile. 😊

We’ve missed those sweet porch moments, and it feels so good to have them back again!

We welcomed the first day of spring with a fun and creative activity this afternoon! 🌸🌿 Our residents enjoyed decorating pots and planting beautiful succulents, adding their own personal touch to each one. Some even made extra pots to share with fellow residents, which made it even more special.

Happy Spring! 🌷💚

We had such a wonderful day getting out and about with our amazing residents! 🚌🎶

We took a fun trip over to the Music Museum and antique market in Swainsboro, where everyone enjoyed exploring all the musical memorabilia and unique treasures. One of our sweet residents (98 years young!) even joked that he was the antique we brought into the store—he definitely kept us all smiling! 😊

Afterward, we headed to The Coleman House for their delicious lunch buffet—everything was so yummy, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, just like the team at the museum. We truly appreciate the warm hospitality at both stops!

Of course, we traveled in style in our limo, making the day feel even more special. On the ride home (about an hour), it was so peaceful… I looked back and just about everyone had their eyes closed, enjoying a well-earned nap after such a full and happy day. ❤️

These are the moments we cherish most!

A big thank you to Christy Smith with CenterWell Home Health for coming out this afternoon and bringing so much fun to our residents! 💚

She led some festive St. Patrick’s Day games, including a sweet candy game and a few lively left-right games that had everyone smiling and engaged. Our residents even walked away with some great prizes!

We truly appreciate the time, joy, and laughter she shared with us—it made for a wonderful afternoon! 🍀
