Today we had the joy of celebrating a very special birthday at Southern Manor! 🎉

Our owner, Ralph Cowart, turned 40 today, and the day was filled with surprises, laughter, and lots of appreciation from everyone whose lives he touches. From beautiful flowers and sweet cupcakes to confetti, phone calls, and countless birthday wishes, it was truly a day to celebrate.

One of the sweetest moments was when our residents gathered together to sing Happy Birthday to him — a reminder of just how much he means to the Southern Manor family.

Ralph is known for his caring heart, generosity, and the way he continually gives of himself to support our residents, families, and staff. Today was a small way for all of us to say thank you for everything he does.

Happy 40th Birthday, Ralph! We hope your day was as special as you are to all of us at Southern Manor. 🎂

We’ve been having lots of fun staying busy and learning new things here at Southern Manor!

These past few weeks we’ve been exploring a little bit of everything. We celebrated the Kentucky Derby with our very own horse race, practiced our aim like Annie Oakley (using Nerf guns of course!), and learned about her amazing career. We also had a great time celebrating Barbie Day—learning about Barbie and even having a relay race to see who could dress Barbie the fastest!

Around here, it’s not always the big events that make the best memories. It’s the many little moments each day—learning something new, sharing laughs, and playing together.

We truly enjoy finding fun ways to keep minds active, bodies moving, and smiles on faces every single day. 💗

For Employee Appreciation Day, we asked our staff a simple question: “What do you love about working at Southern Manor?”

The answers were heartwarming. Many shared that they love the family atmosphere, the relationships with our residents, and the opportunity to learn from the wisdom and life stories our residents share every day.

At Southern Manor, it’s more than just a workplace — it’s a family. We are so thankful for a team that cares so deeply for the people who call this place home. ❤️

This afternoon we had the sweetest time celebrating our February birthday residents! 🎉💜 There’s nothing better than gathering together to honor some very special people.

A big thank you to Kelly Wingate from Affinity Hospice for joining us and helping make the party extra special. We are so grateful for the love and support you show our residents!

And a huge thank you to Statesboro Dairy Queen for generously donating a delicious ice cream cake — it was a big hit and enjoyed by all! 🍦🎂

We also played our fun Birthday Game Trophies , and let’s just say… the competition was fierce! 😜 The winning team is pictured proudly showing off their “trophy,” and the bragging rights that come with it!

Happy Birthday to all of our February friends — you make our days brighter! 💕✨

Today we had the honor of celebrating Aydin as he prepares to leave for basic training and begin his journey in the United States Army.

We surprised him with a special going-away gathering, complete with a cake that read, “We Are So Proud of You,” and another that said, “Now Drop and Give Me 20!” — and he did exactly that! 💪🇺🇸

What made the day even more meaningful was watching generations come together. Residents who once went through basic training themselves sat down with Aydin, sharing stories of service, sacrifice, discipline, and brotherhood. They offered wisdom only veterans can give — the kind that isn’t found in a handbook.

Our residents also created heartfelt cards filled with encouragement and Scripture for him to carry into this next chapter.

We gathered around him and prayed for strength, courage, protection, and honor as he steps forward to serve our country.

To make the day even more special, his grandparents joined us in support, and his dad — our very own Southern Manor chef — stood proudly by his side.

Today wasn’t just a party. It was a reminder that freedom is never free, and that the next generation is still willing to stand up and serve.

Aydin, we salute you. 🇺🇸
