Today we celebrated our residents with December birthdays! 🎉 December birthdays can sometimes get overlooked with all the Christmas excitement, but it was important to us to make sure our residents felt celebrated, remembered, and loved.

A huge thank-you to Dairy Queen of Statesboro for generously donating a delicious ice cream birthday cake — it was a sweet treat everyone enjoyed! 🍰 We also had a great time playing our birthday game, and there was plenty of laughter and friendly competition along the way.

We are so thankful for moments like these that allow us to celebrate the wonderful people who make our community so special. 💙

Yesterday at Southern Manor was picture day — and let’s just say it came with lots of smiles, laughter, and a few “Wait, I need my lipstick!” moments 😄 While not everyone wanted their picture taken (some decided they were not camera-ready and stood firm!), most of our residents truly enjoyed it. There were plenty of laughs, sweet moments, and memories made along the way.

These photos are a small gift for families, but they brought a lot of joy to our residents. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your loved ones. We truly appreciate the privilege of caring for them. They are more than residents to us — they are family, and we are so thankful to share life with them each day.

As we share these pictures, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. May this season remind us of the true meaning of Christmas — celebrating the birth of Jesus, our Savior, and the hope, love, and joy He brings to the world.

A big thank you to Pastor Scott Redding for coming this evening and sharing a special Christmas Eve service with our residents. He read the Christmas story from the Bible and we enjoyed singing some favorite Christmas hymns together. It was a sweet and meaningful way to celebrate Christmas Eve. 🎄✨

Thank you, Natalie, for coming to Southern Manor and leading such a wonderful craft with our residents! This was part of a school project, and she had everything prepared and set up beautifully. Natalie explained each step so well, making it easy and fun for everyone to follow along.

Our residents had a great time creating this Christmas craft and made some really cute ornaments! 🎄

A big thank-you to Cassie as well for jumping in and helping her big sister — the extra hands and smiles made all the difference.

We always enjoy having these girls with us on Wednesdays just hanging out, but this week was extra special seeing them “in charge.” We are so proud of both of them and grateful for the joy they bring to our residents! ❤️

Thank you so much to One Accord for coming to Southern Manor and blessing us with your beautiful Christmas songs! 🎶🎄 We had such a wonderful time singing along, especially during Jingle Bells—hearing our residents join in made it extra special. Thank you to the Silver Liner Dancers for coming last week and sharing such a joyful afternoon with our residents! 💃🎄

Watching you line dance to Christmas music brought smiles and so much holiday cheer. What made it even more special was knowing that many of the dancers are the same age as our residents—what a beautiful reminder that joy, movement, and fun have no age limit.

Thank you for your energy, your time, and for inspiring our residents with your spirit and love of dance. You truly made our Christmas season brighter!

This morning, a small group of our residents spread Christmas cheer throughout Southern Manor by going room to room singing Christmas carols. 🎶🎄

While we may have been a little off key and could probably use a few more practice sessions (lol), the smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears made it clear that the joy was felt.

It was truly heartwarming to see residents blessing other residents through song. Moments like these remind us that Christmas isn’t about perfection—it’s about love, kindness, and sharing joy together. ❤️✨

Silent Night with Dr. Braz

This afternoon we were blessed with a beautiful visit from Dr. Michael Braz, who graced us with his incredible talent on the piano. 🎹✨
Our residents were truly touched by the music, and we ended our time together by singing Silent Night—a sweet moment I’ve included in the video below. 💖🎶

During this Christmas season, we’re reminded of the joy, peace, and hope that music brings to the heart. As Scripture says:

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:11

A huge thank you to the Statesboro Therapy Dogs for braving the cold and coming out to visit us today! ❄️🐾

Our residents absolutely loved every minute — the puppy kisses, the wagging tails, and all the joy you brought with you. These visits mean so much to us, and you always brighten our day in the best way.

We are so grateful for your time, your kindness, and your sweet furry friends. ❤️🐶

We’ve had such a wonderfully busy week!
Yesterday, we took a group of our residents to the First Baptist Church for their Young at Heart luncheon. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and even the cold weather couldn’t dampen the joy everyone felt.
Today, another group enjoyed a beautiful outing to the First United Methodist Church. We were treated to lovely music, a very tasty lunch, and even a surprise visit from Santa himself! 🎅✨
We are so grateful to have amazing community partners who open their doors and their hearts to our residents. These opportunities mean the world to them and help them continue to feel connected, involved, and truly part of the community they love.

Thank you, First Baptist Church and Statesboro First United Methodist Church, for your kindness, hospitality, and the memories made this week. ❤️
