Mr. Calvin Mutcherson

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."- Psalm 34:18

Calvin “Ham Bone” Mutcherson was born on July 13, 1959, to the late Robert Lee Mutcherson, Sr. and Deaconess Clyde Dupree Mutcherson. He departed this life at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Henry Lee” Mutcherson, and sister, Stephanie Mutcherson Starling.

He obtained his GED in Augusta, Georgia. During his lifetime, he was employed by Raulerson’s Station, Claxton Fruit Cake, and Claxton Poultry. Calvin enjoyed making others laugh, dancing, playing his harmonica, and spending time with family and friends.

Calvin is survived by his sister, Mary (Elijah) Lewis of Pembroke, GA; brothers, Rosbie (Regina) Mutcherson of Augusta, GA, and Charlie (Vivian) Mutcherson, Sr. of Pembroke, GA; uncle, Thomas “TJ” Mutcherson, Sr. of Pembroke, GA; and a good friend, Pam Meadows of Pembroke, GA; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 6:00P.M.-7:00P.M. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Pembroke Chapel, 66 Ledford Street Pembroke, GA 31321.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00A.M. at House Of God Church, 89 Byrd Temple Road, Pembroke, GA 31321. Elder Kevin C. Thompson, Eulogist.

Interment will be held at Boyds Temple Cemetery.

Oliver Bill "Sarge" Washington

Mr. Oliver Bill “Sarge” Washington, age 64, peacefully transitioned on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.

A native of Effingham County, Georgia, Oliver was raised in Rochester, New York, and later resided in Chatham County. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, where he served honorably, including during the war in Kuwait, and later retired with distinction. He was also a dedicated member of American Legion Post 90.

Oliver was a man of faith who joined The Gospel Truth Word of God Holiness Church, Inc. in February 2008 under the leadership of Pastor Pamela Mikell and Elder Anthony Mikell.

He had a deep passion for life and brought joy to those around him through his love of singing, dancing, cooking, and celebrating with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancé, Willie Mae Williams Simmons of Statesboro, GA; his daughter, Monique Washington of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Kenya, Neisha, Aliya, Neveyah, and Gregory; and his siblings, Elzina McCullough of Rochester, New York; Shawn D. Washington Rogers (Russel Walker), and Daniel Simmons both of Statesboro, Georgia; and Clara Jamaira Rozix, James Simmons, and JoAnne Simmons, all of Rochester, New York. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 6:00P.M.-7:00P.M. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Statesboro Chapel, 238 West Main Street, Statesboro, GA.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:00A.M. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Chapel, 238 West Main Street, Statesboro, GA 30458. Pastor Pamela Mikell, Eulogist.

Interment will be held at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 US Hwy 301 Glenville, GA 30427.

In loving memory of Oliver Bill “Sarge” Washington, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in support of children fighting cancer.

Kathy Denise Williams Allen, age 66 of Statesboro GA, took a one-way flight to her final destination on April 5, 2026, departing from Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.

Kathy was born January 29,1960, in Luverne, Alabama, daughter to the late Rev. Bobby Allen and late Mary Hellon Madison Hines. She spent her early years in Alabama then she and her mother moved to New Jersey where she graduated high school and completed college and business studies.

Kathy relocated to Atlanta Georgia to care for her mother in the early 90’s. She relocated to Statesboro Ga. where she became a member of The Shift Church under Pastor Daniel Latimore, serving with the hospitality ministry and Church Mother.

Kathy loved to travel and spent the majority of her career in the Travel industry working for WorldTravel Services and American Express Travel. Whether professional or personal, traveling in and outside of the country with family, friends, and co-workers brought her much joy.

Kathy regularly volunteered with Relay for Life as a walker and last year as a cancer survivor.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sister Melenese D. Spragin of Snellville, GA; three nephews Dajon L. Brye and Brett A. Brye of Snellville, GA and Emmanuel (Danielle) Spragin of Lithonia, GA; three nieces Brianne M. (Keawon) Pringle of Lithonia GA, Tamara L. (Steve Herman) Spragin of Ellenwood GA, and Jasmine Haynes of Pensacola, FL. Cousin and lifelong friend Antonia (Joe) Cephus of Statesboro GA.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 10:00A.M. at at Clarkston First Baptist Church, 3999 Church ST, Clarkston GA 30021.

Interment will be at Rockwest Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 9837 US-29, Goshen AL 36035.
