At Lane Dentistry, technology plays an important role in delivering precise, comfortable, and efficient care.
Advanced imaging and diagnostic tools allow for earlier detection of potential issues and more accurate treatment planning. Modern dental technology helps reduce guesswork, improve comfort, and support predictable, long-term results—so patients receive care that is both effective and thoughtfully delivered.

Technology we use includes:
âś… Digital X-Rays for clearer images with significantly less radiation
âś… Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging for detailed 3D views of teeth, bone, and jaw structure
âś… Intraoral cameras to help patients see and understand their oral health
âś… Digital scanning technology for precise impressions and treatment planning
âś… Advanced diagnostic tools that support accurate, minimally invasive care

By investing in modern dental technology, Lane Dentistry prioritizes accuracy, safety, and a better overall patient experience—without sacrificing personalized care.

Today is National Fluoride Day.

Fluoride is often called nature’s cavity fighter, and for good reason. This naturally occurring mineral helps prevent tooth decay by making the surface of our teeth (aka tooth enamel) stronger and more resistant to cavities.

Cavities are caused by bacteria that live in our mouths. They feed on leftover food they find there, including sugary foods and drinks. When these bacteria consume sugars, they release acids that attack tooth enamel. Over time, damage to this protective outer layer of our teeth sets the stage for tooth decay. Fluoride helps fight cavities by repairing the damage these acids can do to our teeth. The repair process is called remineralization.

Dentists can provide children and adults with professional fluoride treatments called fluoride varnish to provide extra protection, as well as strengthen the enamel. The treatment is directly applied to the surface of each tooth following your dental cleaning.

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing and protecting teeth that have been damaged by decay, wear, or injury.

When a tooth is compromised, it can affect more than just appearance. Untreated damage may lead to bite imbalance, added stress on surrounding teeth, and a higher risk of further deterioration. Restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and dental implants are designed to rebuild strength, restore proper function, and help prevent future problems.

Effective restorative care prioritizes durability, comfort, and preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible—supporting a healthier, more functional smile for the long term.

You may be a candidate for full-mouth reconstruction if:

🦷 Your teeth have been lost due to decay or trauma
🦷 Your teeth have been injured or fractured
🦷 Your teeth have become severely worn because of long-term acid erosion (from foods, beverages, or acid reflux)
🦷 You have ongoing jaw, muscle, or headache pain related to your bite

Did you know that even excellent brushing and flossing cannot remove hardened tartar?

Once plaque mineralizes, it creates a surface that traps bacteria and inflames the gums. Professional cleanings are essential to protect the structures supporting your teeth.
