This free forum is a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and take proactive steps toward better health in a welcoming community setting.

The Santiam Hospital & Clinics Foundation is proud to announce the promotion of Melinda Smith to Manager, Events, MarCom, and Financial Reporting. Melinda joined the Foundation in February of 2023 and quickly made her mark by taking ownership of the Foundation sponsored Healthcare Seminars and organizing the first ever Santiam Canyon River Run in downtown Stayton. She also took ownership of our social media content and partnering with our agency resulting in significant growth in our content followers. She developed the format of our print and digital newsletters which are distributed monthly to over 11,000 patrons.

In 2025, she led the effort to expand our events leading the charge to launch the Redball Express Dodgeball Tournament, the Santiam Foundation Golf Classic, and our first Gala. In addition, she led the planning and organizing of our second annual Santiam Canyon River Run that grew by over 30%. And in the fourth quarter she stepped in, working with the Foundation Finance Committee to revamp the reporting streamlining the approach and creating Board friendly finance packets.
Melinda's ability to engage with donors and prospective donors from all walks of life is a tremendous asset to the Foundation. Her leadership of our schedule of events, our marketing communication and the willingness to "start with yes" have been paramount to the success of the Foundation.

The Red Ball Express Dodgeball Tournament is racing back to town on April 18, and it’s shaping up to be an adrenaline-filled day of competition, laughs, and community fun.

Hosted by the Santiam Hospital & Clinics Foundation at Stayton High School, this second annual tournament will feature up to 32 teams, fast-paced pool play, and an exciting championship showdown.

Santiam Hospital & Clinics and Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics are taking the next step toward a partnership that strengthens local health care for our communities and enhances clinical care by combining local access with regional strength. Patients will receive more comprehensive care, clinicians will get stronger support, and the organization gains the stability needed to thrive in a rapidly changing health care landscape.
