Sleep is one of the most powerful tools for protecting long-term health, yet it is often the first thing people sacrifice when life gets busy. It plays a critical role in how our brains function, how our bodies heal, and how we maintain energy and focus throughout the day.

Read our March blog to learn more about why healthy sleep matters and how small changes can make a meaningful difference:

Quality sleep is essential to overall health. Learn how better rest supports heart health, mood, and immunity, and join Santiam Hospital & Clinics for the March Healthcare Forum on healthy sleep.

Happening Tomorrow! 💙

At our first Town Hall, many community members shared that navigating Medicare changes can feel confusing and overwhelming. You asked for clearer guidance and trusted support, and we listened.

Based on that feedback, we partnered with Dianne McGill from the SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefit Assistance) Program to host a free Medicare Information Session right here in our community.

📅 Tomorrow — March 24, 2026
⏰ 1:30 PM
📍 Santiam Senior Center
41818 Kingston Jordan Rd., Stayton

During this session, you’ll learn about:
• Medicare options available to you
• The ability to make changes before the March 31 deadline
• Answers to your questions without pressure or sales

This is part of our ongoing commitment to listen, learn, and respond to what matters most to our community. We hope you’ll join us and bring a friend who may benefit.

Last Wednesday night at Giovanni’s in Mill City, we gathered with community members, local leaders, and service providers for a meaningful Town Hall conversation about the announced partnership between Santiam Hospital & Clinics and Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics.

Maggie Hudson, MBA, President & CEO of Santiam Hospital & Clinics, and Cheryl Nester Wolfe, MSN, RN, President & CEO of Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics, shared their vision for the future and—more importantly—listened. We heard directly from Idanha and Detroit community members about their hopes for greater access to services close to home.

Maggie also highlighted an exciting example of what that commitment looks like in action: the development of a Mill City Pharmacy. At a time when rural communities across the nation are losing pharmacies, Mill City—considered a pharmacy desert—is gaining one.

It was an engaging night filled with honest dialogue, shared vision, and a clear message: rural communities matter, and their voices are shaping what comes next. Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and continues to partner with us as we build a stronger future together. 💙

That listening continued beyond the Town Hall. Just yesterday, leaders from both hospitals were at Cascade Service Integration Team, continuing conversations with partners and community members about how this work shows up locally and how we move forward together.

Standing room only. Proud community. Important conversations.

Last night’s Town Hall at Snow Peak brought together 110+ community members, all engaged and asking thoughtful, wide‑ranging questions—from access to care to how healthcare is delivered in our region. One message came through loud and clear: our community is proud of its community hospital. 💙

If you missed Snow Peak, there’s another opportunity to join the conversation tonight with Maggie Hudson, MBA, President & CEO of Santiam Hospital & Clinics, and Cheryl Nester Wolfe, MSN, RN, President & CEO of Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics.

📍 Giovanni’s Mountain Pizza
146 NW Santiam Blvd, Mill City, OR 97360
🕕Tonight, 6:00 PM

Come support a local business, grab some pizza and a drink, and let’s talk about healthcare in your community—and how this partnership will impact the Santiam Canyon.

We’re listening. We’re here. And we want to hear from you.
