🗞️ • BREAKING NEWS! • published highlights from our 2025 World Congress presentation. In it we discussed our results with MACI for chondral defects of the knee.

We summarized our single-surgeon outcomes database for results in patients who had cartilage repair surgery by transplanting their own cells.

Our group is one of the first series of published results in private practice and showed not only a high level of satisfaction, but a high rate of return to sports.

Including downhill, backcountry and nordic skiing, mountain biking, ultra-running, gymnastics, and off-road motorcycling.

🪚 • • One of my is the standard surgical ruler, or scale. Why isn’t the “0” denoted at the end of the ruler? Why do I have to account for 2 or 3 extra millimeters?

My usual preference card request is the “ruler cut to zeros” but this subtle nuance doesn’t always resonate.

Today I had the pleasure during cartilage repair surgery at the Steamboat Surgery Center to have our tenured Surgical Technologist Calen Howe.

The ruler was “cut to zero.”

The small things add up. When you have a team of consistent staff members, like a physician owned Ambulatory Surgery Center, efficiencies amplify.

Thanks Calen for your attention to detail and your hard work.

🗞️• • We are proud to recognize Heidi Mueller for her work as the Research Coordinator for the as a participating site in the BEAR ACL Registry.

The registry published its first peer-reviewed paper in the journal
Knee Surgery Sports Traumatology & Arthroscopy (KSSTA) and SOSI was a large contributor to the first 100-patients.

Heidi was instrumental in coordinating the project, and managing the patients, follow-up timelines and data.

This paper is the first clinical study published at SOSI since its inception in 2018.

And we presented the article’s cover page in a plaque to Heidi today. Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾

• I was thrilled for the opportunity to present my data at the ICRS - - International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society meeting in Boston this month! It was a great opportunity to connect with friends and Leaders in the field. Plus a 5Km fun run into Cambridge.

Exciting developments abound in the realm of cartilage regeneration and delaying .

Joe is our first implantable shock absorber patient having his surgery 20-months prior in December 2023.

👨‍🔧 • 38-year old man with chronic left knee pain. positive medial tear with a complex tear morphology.

Meniscus tears can occur in a variety of patterns: vertical, horizontal, parrot beak, avulsions. And tear matters because blood flow is important for healing.

In this instance, the tear was complex with multiple dimensions of tearing. The peripheral, “white-zone,” was trimmed to remove loose fragments that would not heal.

Then the horizontal cleavage component was sewn with a “hay-bale” technique to compress the torn edges together.
