Services for 95 year old Margie Lee Flood of Manila, Arkansas, formerly of Steele, Missouri, will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until service time. Margie Flood passed away on December 24, 2025 at Manila Nursing Center in Manila.

Margie Lee Cothern Flood was born on September 1, 1930 in Swifton, Arkansas to Sherman D. Cothern and Inice Frances Bowen Cothern. She passed away on December 24, 2025 in Manila, Arkansas at the age of 95.

She had been employed as a ward clerk and monitor tech for many years at the hospital in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was very active in her church and she enjoyed singing there. Margie loved to go and traveled as much as she could. She also loved her flowers and plants.

On February 1, 1948 in Steele, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Wallace K. "Polkie" Flood. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Cothern, and one brother, Tony Cothern

Survivors include:

Terry Flood and Mary of Blytheville, Arkansas
Lisa Novak and Paul of Kansas City, Missouri

One brother: Alfadean Cothern and Norma of Newport, Arkansas

Services for 84 year old Stellveta Bradford of Steele, Missouri will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Mr. John Mundy officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. Burial will be in Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri.

Stellveta Overturf Bradford was born on July 27, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri to Henry C. Overturf and Mary Mable Michie Overturf. She passed away on December 23, 2025 in Steele, Missouri at the age of 84.
Stellveta was of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed shopping and loved animals.
She was united in marriage to Chester Stanley Bradford, Sr. in Steele, Missouri on November 29, 1959. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and seven siblings: Carroll Overturf, Henry Overturf, Freddy Overturf, Bonita Johnson, Marie Dennis, Lavenia Flood, and Buddy Overturf.
Survivors include:
One daughter, Debra Bradford, of Steele, Missouri
One son, Chester Stanley Bradford, Jr., also of Steele
One granddaughter, Alexandria Reno, also of Steele
One sister, Agnes Richardson, of Deering, Missouri

Visitation services for 74 year old Annie B. Walters of Steele, Missouri, formerly of Cooter, Missouri will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele.

Annie Bell Brown Walters was born on March 25, 1951 in Tennessee to Pete Brown and Brooksie Lee Moody Brown Wynes. She passed away on December 15, 2025 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 74.
She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Lexington, Tennessee for many years. She loved spending time with her family and her little dog, Monkey. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gospel music and flea markets.
She was preceded in death by both parents, and her companion of 25 years, Jim Anderson. She was also preceded in death by an aunt who raised her, Janie Bartholomew, an uncle, Tavie Bartholomew, one brother, Robert G. Brown, and one nephew, Robert G. Brown, Jr.
She leaves behind two daughters and four sons:
Stacy Cagle and Jimmy Cagle of Armorel, Arkansas
Lee Kelly of Cooter, Missouri
Billy Carlton of Caruthersville, Missouri
Ray Kelly II of Holcomb, Missouri
James W. Frazier of Dyersburg, Tennessee

Martha Maness of Steele, Missouri
Shannon Sellers of Tennessee
Wayne Inman of Tennessee
Chad Sellers of Tennessee
Lucy Webb of Halls, Tennessee
One sister-in-law: Margie Brown of Cooter, Missouri
Fifteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren

Services for 50 year old Chastity Renee Dunn of Steele, Missouri will be held Friday, December 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Don Tims, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

Chastity Renee Pitts Dunn was born on September 25, 1975 in Kennett, Missouri to Rodney Pitts and Patricia Lucas Sloan. She was raised by Rodney and Mayme Pitts. She passed away on December 7, 2025 in Steele, Missouri at the age of 50.
She was united in marriage to Robert Dunn on February 25, 1995 in Kennett, Missouri. Chastity loved her family, and her life revolved around her grandchildren. Shopping for the grandchildren was her favorite thing to do. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their semi-truck and taking pictures of everything along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Jasmine Nicole Pitts.

Memorial services for 72 year old Rodney E. Pitts of Steele, Missouri will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Don Tims, Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm noon and continue until service time.


Rodney Emmanual Pitts was born on April 9, 1953 in Kennett, Missouri to Fred Lee Pitts and Henry Joyce Davis Pitts. He passed away on November 30, 2025 in Steele, Missouri at the age of 72.
He was the owner of Pitts Collision and Wrecker Service in Steele. He had worked in automotive repair his whole life.
Rodney was a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like watching the trains go by and riding around looking at wildlife.
He was united in marriage on January 19, 1979 to Mayme Lucas Pitts, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and:
Two brothers: Floyd Pitts and David Pitts
One sister: Barbara Leone

Services for 86 year old James Edwin Archer of Steele, Missouri will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm Noon at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Cecil Riley officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

James Edwin Archer was born on September 8, 1939 in Holland, Missouri to Hubert Archer and Jerline Hensley Archer. He passed away at his residence in Steele, Missouri on November 17, 2025 at the age of 86.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and had been employed in Civil Service at the Blytheville Air Force Base in Blytheville, Arkansas. He later worked at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
He was preceded in death by his parents and:
Three brothers, his twin Claude Archer, Mervin Archer, and Larry Archer
One nephew, Brian Pierce
One great nephew, Allen Michael Pierce
Survivors include:
One sister, Brenda Pierce, of Senath, Missouri
Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives
Pam Kennedy, who was like a daughter to him and he was like her second daddy

Graveside services for 66 year old Richard DePriest of Steele, Missouri will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Rev. John E. Dunavant officiating.


Richard Charles DePriest was born on October 16, 1959 in Hayti, Missouri to Louis DePriest and Emma Jean Mathis DePriest. He passed away on November 13, 2025 at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri at the age of 66.
He was a graduate of the South Pemiscot High School Class of 1977. He then attended Arkansas State University and graduated there with a degree in Agricultural Education in 1981.
Richard had been employed as a Lab Supervisor at Terra Chemical in Blytheville, Arkansas for about 20 years. He was later employed with RSC Equipment Rental in Blytheville for several years.
He was a fan of college basketball and football, which he enjoyed watching with friends, and also enjoyed being outdoors. He loved his pets, especially his Pomeranian, Cotton.
Richard was the grandson of the late Frank and Fannie DePriest of Steele, Missouri and the late Clarence and Sarah Mathis, also of Steele.
Richard was also preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Emma Jean DePriest of Steele.
He is survived by:
One brother, Raymond DePriest and his wife, Kathy, of Steele
One nephew, Justin DePriest and his wife, LeeAnn, of Charleston, South Carolina
One niece, Christy DePriest of Memphis, Tennessee
One uncle, Delbert DePriest and his wife, Bennie, of Steele, Missouri
Two great nephews, Jaxon and Noah DePriest, and one great niece, Claire DePriest, all of Charleston, South Carolina
Richard also leaves behind many cousins he was very close to and many other relatives and friends

Services for 49 year old Anthony “Jason” “Pedro” Burton of Steele, Missouri will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm Noon at First Baptist Church, 222 S. Walnut St., in Steele with Rev. Chris Campbell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. A private burial will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Anthony “Jason” “Pedro” Burton was born on April 27, 1976 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Michael Burton and Judith “Judi” Powell Rhodes. He passed away on October 31, 2025 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 49.
He had been employed as a farmer. He was a loving father and a jokester, and enjoyed camping trips to the river and riding the side by side.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Bobby Powell, Harry Burton, Jr., and Lahoma Burton.
Survivors include:
