This letter went out to all families of school-aged children.
•
With growing numbers in ND, we feel it important to be transparent about MMR vaccinations rates of our county. We are incredibly vulnerable to an outbreak here.
•
This letter also discusses what will happen if a case is identified within the school, per NDCC.

Please stay vigilant, safe, and healthy. As a community we want to protect those that are most vulnerable.

What we say behind a screen can hurt just as much as words spoken face-to-face. Cyberbullying can happen anytime, anywhere—and it can impact a child’s emotional and mental well-being.

Help your child understand that kindness, empathy and respect matter in every space—including online.

Encourage them to:
âś” Think before they post
âś” Choose kindness in comments and messages
âś” Speak up or get help if they see bullying

Kindness online starts with conversation at home.

It all starts with a conversation!

It all starts with a conversation. đź’¬

Having ongoing, effective conversations with your child is important — but let’s be honest, it’s not always easy.

The good news? Meaningful conversations don’t have to be perfect. They just have to be intentional.

Here's an easy read with tips to make them count:

The 2026 N.D. measles case count rose over the weekend to 6 confirmed cases, including 5 in Pembina Co. and 1 in Williams Co. One person is hospitalized; four are over age 19. There are numerous public exposure locations that people contagious with measles visited. Others present at the identified locations on the dates and identified time spans could have been exposed to measles. See details and what to do if you were exposed to measles at hhs.nd.gov/measles.

Unvaccinated people are most at risk. However, as more measles cases circulate in the community, communities lose the benefit of community immunity (herd immunity), which is achieved when more than 95% of people in a community are vaccinated. This puts everyone at higher risk, especially the very young, individuals who are older, or immune compromised, and those who cannot be vaccinated for other health reasons.

You can help kids practice positive self talk.

You can help kids practice positive self talk.

Words matter—especially the ones we say to ourselves. 💭
Helping kids practice positive self-talk can build confidence, resilience and overall mental well-being.

Instead of “I can’t do this,” encourage,
➡️ “I’ll try my best.”

Parents can model this too. When we swap,
➡️ “I always mess up”
for
➡️ “Mistakes help me learn,”
our kids are listening—and learning. 👂❤️

Treats can be healthful! Did you know each of these recipes uses fruits or vegetables?

Eating more fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk for cancer and heart disease. Fruits and vegetables also add fiber to your diet, a component that many adults and children lack.
