Did you know that getting a flu shot late in the season can still offer you great protection?

Flu season lasts until May, and late vaccination is better than skipping it altogether!

Here are some reasons to roll up your sleeve:

- Protection: The flu virus can linger through spring. Vaccination helps protect you!
- Reduced Severity: A late flu shot can lessen the symptoms and significantly lower hospitalization risks if you catch the flu.
- High-Risk Groups: Itโ€™s crucial for those with chronic conditions, young children, and seniors.

Donโ€™t wait! Your health is worth it. Letโ€™s face flu season together! Most pharmacies provide both flu and Covid vaccinations.

Initially known as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, to mark the conclusion of World War I, Veterans Day officially became a recognized holiday in 1938. In 1954, its name was changed to Veterans Day in recognition of all American veterans from various wars, paying tribute to the sacrifices made by veterans of World War II and the Korean War. Join us in honoring all veterans on this important day.

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. Let's prioritize our health together! Your local pharmacist is here to help. Ask about continuous glucose monitoring and supplies to support and manage diabetes.

The most common diabetes supplies include blood glucose meters, test strips, lancets, and lancing devices for monitoring blood sugar. Other essential supplies are insulin, syringes or pens, and oral medications. For those with more advanced management, insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) are also common.

Visit your local pharmacy for support on your diabetes management journey. ๐ŸŒŸ

Steelville Drug

Steelville Drug originally opened over 110 years ago on Main Street in downtown Steelville, and has been locally owned and operated ever since. In 1984, John and Tommie Fester purchased the drugstore, and operated at its downtown location until 1988, when the pharmacy moved to their present space in order to have an appropriate parking area.

In 2014, Steelville Drug was purchased by Sandy Mitchell, a local pharmacist, and owner of Medley Pharmacy, (including Sinks Pharmacy, Medley Pharmacy, and Towne Pharmacy locations). We are a family of pharmacies with a business philosophy to deliver quality healthcare to patients in a friendly, professional manner.

Steelville drug has remained a cornerstone of the community, evolving into a healthcare destination for the Steelville and surrounding communities with up-to-date modern conveniences, including: free local delivery or mailing of prescriptions, online and mobile app prescription refills, medication compounding, a medication adherence program, specialty medications, Medicare Part D counseling, text and email alerts when prescriptions are ready, and a new drive-thru. Our pharmacists, technicians, and staff are local citizens of the community, who are truly dedicated to giving you the great hometown service you deserve.
