PROUD MOMENT FOR TRINITY LUTHERAN UTICA
Recently, We had the honor of training the 7th and 8th graders at Trinity Lutheran Utica in emergency response CPR,AED, and situational awareness
While attending a play This past Friday night in Sterling Heights, those lessons turned into a real life emergency.
after the play had ended, an adult noticed a non-responsive person in one of the seats. Before panic could set in, three of those young students that attended the training didn’t freeze they jumped into action and did exactly what they were taught:
• Cleared the area to create space for responders
• Called EMS immediately
• Led a prayer circle in the lobby with adults while EMS worked on the individual
These weren’t adults.
Not professionals.
Just kids who had the courage to step up when it mattered most.
This is why training matters.
This is why we teach
“ACT -Assess, Call, Treat.”
And this is why I’m incredibly proud of those students, their school, and their willingness to serve others in a moment of crisis.
Amazing job, Trinity Lutheran students. And the 4 Trinity Lutheran Adults that Responded to the Emergency. You represented your school, your families, and your faith in the best way possible.
