Some seasons have a way of reopening old wounds. Anniversaries, holidays, or certain dates can make grief feel fresh again — even when we thought we’d learned how to carry it. If this time of year feels heavier than usual, you’re not alone.

Give yourself permission to feel what comes up. There’s no “right” way to grieve, and there’s nothing weak about needing extra space, rest, or support. Reach out to someone you trust, create small rituals that bring comfort, or simply take things one gentle moment at a time.

Research suggests that gratitude changes our brain's chemistry, activating our reward centers and regulating our immune systems. But sometimes finding gratitude in the midst of stress and struggle feels impossible.
