Nugget went on a sleepover with one of his favorite volunteers this weekend and here's how it went....

✨ Perfectly ✨

He was a perfect gentleman. This senior boy was an incredible houseguest. He didn't need to be crated at night, slept on his bed and behaved wonderfully. He followed around his human companion and was nothing but polite about it. He didn't have a single accident in the house! Who could ask for more honestly?

Nugget has now been waiting over a month for a forever home. He's just entering his senior years at 7.5 years and aside from needing some dental care (covered by us!) he's healthy and happy. Nugget is non-reactive to other dogs but doesn't like them in his face. He may do ok with another senior companion. Nugget would prefer a home without kitties and he may do ok with respectful, older children.

⚾️ Play Ball! ⚾️

Our residents had a fantastic time celebrating Detroit Tigers Opening Day! From hot dogs and cracker jacks to refreshing beverages, it was the perfect game-day experience.

Even better—cheering on the Tigers as they swept the St. Louis Cardinals made the day extra exciting! 🐯🎉

Nothing brings people together quite like baseball, good food, and great company.

What a wonderful Veterans Coffee Hour! 🇺🇸☕

In partnership with the Macomb County Veterans Coffee Hour, we were truly honored to host such a special gathering. Residents and guests alike enjoyed a morning filled with great conversation, laughter, and shared stories.

It’s always a privilege to bring our veterans together and create meaningful moments of connection, camaraderie, and fun.

Congratulations to our amazing housekeeper, Safete! 💙

Safete first joined Waltonwood in 2016, took time away to raise her son, and is now happily back doing what she loves. She enjoys shopping, spending time with her son, and especially connecting with our wonderful residents.

Safete was nominated for her outstanding work, which is truly noticed and appreciated by both residents and staff. We are so lucky to have her back on our team!

Welcome home to Waltonwood Lakeside! We hosted our annual “Taste of Waltonwood” open house and delighted guests, residents and families alike with amazing food, creative beverages, and soft piano sounds as they toured our community. Chef Nick and the Culinary team created the most beautiful and delicious hors d’oeuvres, infused water and a signature cocktail that fit in perfectly with the freshness of spring. Guests were treated to a complementary signature carrot cake freshly made by our in-house pastry chef as thank you gift as well as custom-made mini bouquets from our bloom bar.  💐

Life Enrichment outings are always a great way to spend the day at Lakeside! Memory Care residents  had a fun filled afternoon starting out with a round of virtual golf that had everyone in smiles. They finished out the day with a delightful lunch at Sidecar Slider Bar.

Our very first Assisted Living Auction was a huge success! 🎉

Over the past month, residents have been earning “Waltonwood Bucks” by attending activities and they had so much fun deciding how to spend them today. From sweet treats and foot massagers to self-care packages and mystery bags, the bidding was full of excitement, laughter, and friendly competition!

It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and enjoying the experience.
