Residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day with a special performance by the talented dancers of Foley Academy of Irish Dance! The ballroom came alive with lively music, traditional Irish dancing, and plenty of festive cheer. Residents brought their favorite beverages along and watched the room fill with rhythm, culture, and community spirit.

Residents at Hillside House enjoyed a full St. Patrick’s Day celebration filled with festive activities. The morning featured themed exercises, including Irish Juggling, followed by a lively round of St. Patrick’s Day bingo. In the afternoon, residents got hands-on in the kitchen, making potato candy and cabbage coleslaw. The day concluded with a cheerful gathering to enjoy their homemade treats, accompanied by beer and the sounds of Irish pub rock music.

Bringing the spirit of 1776 to life. Falcons Landing residents gathered in the ballroom for a lively Colonial Town Hall inspired by Common Sense by Thomas Paine. Just as colonists once gathered in taverns and town squares, neighbors came together to hear the powerful words that helped spark the American Revolution. Paine’s influential pamphlet inspired everyday citizens to stand up for freedom, natural rights, and government by the people – challenging monarchy and hereditary rule. This special program is part of Falcons Landing’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, commemorating the ideals that shaped our nation and inviting residents to experience the spirit of 1776 in a meaningful and engaging way.

Giving back to the community starts with dedicated volunteers. Falcons Landing residents recently attended the Loudoun County Home Delivered Meals volunteer training and refresher session. During the presentation, Andi Kiehle, Volunteer Services Coordinator with Loudoun County reviewed the Home Delivered Meals program and shared what it means to serve as a volunteer with Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. This helps ensure volunteers are prepared to support the program which delivers meals and meaningful connections to community members in need.
