Today, representatives from our school-based programs (NP, Jessica Wilson, Director, Amanda Forsmark & Parent Advisory Member, Elizabeth Goodbout) were in Lansing for the School-Community Health Alliance of Michigan School-Based Health Center Advocacy Day! They met with several members of the Michigan House & Senate, including Mike Hoadley - State Representative and Senator Michele Hoitengas staff. The group discussed the value that SBHCs bring to our rural communities and shared success stories since opening our clinics in 2024! We are grateful for the ongoing support of our programs at the state level!

Our President & CEO George Olson is in Washington DC this week at the National Association of Community Health Centers Policies & Issues Forum. Today he, alongside other Michigan FQHC leaders, and representatives from the Michigan Primary Care Association, met with Rep. Jack Bergman to discuss the Community Health Center Drug Pricing Protection Act, that was introduced by Rep. Bergman and Rep Jake Auchincloss (MA). This bill aims to protect the 340B medication program that offers affordable care and medication access for our patients. Thank you to Rep. Bergman for spearheading this bipartisan supported bill!
