Joint replacement, also called arthroplasty, is a surgery that removes worn-out or damaged parts of a joint and replaces them with an artificial joint, known as a prosthesis. This procedure can relieve pain, restore movement, and help you return to the activities you love.

The most common reason for joint replacement is arthritis, but it may also be needed after a fracture or injury. At SPO, our physicians perform hip replacements using both anterior and posterior approaches, knee replacements, and shoulder replacements - including both traditional and reverse procedures.

Every step is focused on restoring comfort, mobility, and confidence so you can move through life with less pain. 💙

🚨 Did you know lymphedema can start developing before you see visible swelling? Early education is key to catching it!

Some subtle early signs you might miss include:
🔹Heaviness, tightness, or aching in your arm.
🔹Your sleeve feeling snug.
🔹Limited movement in your fingers, elbow, or shoulder.
🔹 Changes in how your bra fits, or fullness/tightness around your chest or armpit.

Our certified lymphedema therapist, Brittany, is passionate about equipping you with the knowledge to detect early-stage lymphedema. The sooner it's detected, the more reversible it can be! If you notice any of these signs, talk to your healthcare provider or a certified lymphedema therapist.

For years, Tammy lived with constant back pain that made even simple moments difficult. After working with Dr. Jason Potocki and the spine care team at Stevens Point Orthopedics, she’s finally getting her life back.
