We are excited to kick off 2026 with a specific focus on the different dimensions of wellness and to share ideas about how to have a comprehensive approach to maintain them all in healthy ways. Think of this as winter dreaming and mindfulness for spring awakening.

This effort will reveal β€œThe Pearl Street Way” that summarizes our key priorities for the benefit of our members at the gym.

As we proceed further into the different dimensions of wellness for the Pearl Street Way, the SPIRITUAL dimension is our next focus.

Some of the most consistently discussed circumstances in the counseling office are the situations where people have encountered a life tragedy or crisis that has pushed them well beyond their limit or capacity to understand a situation.

When these outcomes occur, it is inevitable that people ask existential questions about themselves and the world around them.

This forces people to identify and work through their own beliefs about religion or spirituality and what can be depended upon amidst the turmoil found during difficulties.

Therefore, this last dimension is important to talk through so that there are some ideas to fall back upon when this likely circumstance will happen in your own life as well.

Visit our YT channel for our weekly discussion with Counselor Steve for more information or integrate this week's challenge into your weekend hibernation.

The Pearl Street Way Exercise #17:
Attempt to spend some time with a mentor or person that you have admired over the years. Ask that person how he or she has navigated the difficult parts of life throughout the years. That person may reveal some helpful teachings to you that can aid your own spirituality.

A beautiful evening to celebrate one of our favorite members Gary and the amazing community building he has helped lead with One Big Tent Portage County

With an initial goal of $20,000 Gary was showing up for workouts and brainstorming ways of raising support for our community members in need with the Coldest Night of the Year walk.

Fast forward to tonight and as a community over $40,000 has been collected to continue to help Stevens Point families in need.

AMAZING.

Happy Birthday to 5am Coach Riggs!

The guy who gets up BEFORE the early bird and gets the gym ready and warmed up for us on the cold winter mornings.

It's always a treat watching everyone's amazement during team birthday burpees when they find out how many we have to do.

Keep inspiring us all to move and stay strong with the gift of age!

As we proceed further into the different dimensions of wellness for the Pearl Street Way, the ENVIRONMENTAL dimension is our next focus.

We first encountered the word stewardship during last week’s topic on wellness. I think that word conveys a sense of responsibility for the things that are important to us, and as such, easily leads into the dialogue this week about the environmental dimension of wellness.

It is a personal responsibility and challenge to be a good steward of a particular place that has meaning to a person. No matter if that place exists indoors and impacts wellness or a place that is visited outdoors and helps a person to thrive. Thus, this week there will be three priorities that explain further this idea of stewardship and why we need to pay attention to the places where we spend our time. In doing so, we will be better able to improve and sustain our wellness levels.

The Pearl Street Way Exercise #15 & #16:
Find the indoor/outdoor places that help us feel calm, at peace, or allow us space to reflect.

Be intentional to spend time in that place this week in order to be encouraged and strengthened. Reinforcing the places of peace in our lives helps to avoid unhealthy living.

As we proceed further into the different dimensions of wellness for the Pearl Street Way, the financial dimension is our next focus.

"Priority #1: Recognize the power of money to bless people, priorities, and passions.
When the financial dimension of wellness is experienced in the best possible way, this first recommendation has a lot of evidence in the life of a person and it can impact the people around them, too. Smartly managed finances and wise stewardship of money during key opportunities allow many good things to occur in the lives of the people that we care about.

The effort also helps to elevate important priorities in our own lives and for those around us, too. Effective management of finances ensures that our passions have the tools needed to be fully realized. Be intentional to seek out examples of and knowledge about how to use finances and to steward them well. It is always wise to study something we want to get better at, to follow someone else’s example, or to use helpful tools like budgets."

The Pearl Street Way Exercise #14:
Pay attention to the people and places around you to see if there is some type of a financial need that you can cover for someone else. Have some cash available to help someone else out that needs it more than you in that moment. No matter the size of your generosity, it will be an unexpected blessing to the person and could help him or her in more ways that you can possibly know.
