Aveanna Cares is back for its second year, and our team is proud to give back right here in the community we serve.

Throughout our Month of Service, our local Aveanna team will be volunteering with organizations close to home, supporting causes that matter to our neighbors, and putting compassion into action beyond the care we provide every day. It’s one more way we stay connected to the people and places that mean so much to us.

We’re excited to share photos and moments from a month full of service, heart, and community impact!

This Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, Aveanna is excited to celebrate our patients living with the condition and our exceptional caregivers who support them.

Aveanna patient Courtney lives with Angelman syndrome and cerebral palsy, which requires complete, around-the-clock care. When her parent developed a serious health issue and was no longer able to manage her physical care on their own, her family faced an incredibly difficult situation.

"That’s when Aveanna Healthcare stepped in and truly changed our lives," said Courtney's parent. "They blessed us with a compassionate, dedicated aide who comes both in the morning and evening, ensuring our daughter receives the attentive, nurturing care she needs."

With HHA Sheba by her side, Courtney is able to remain safely and comfortably in her home, surrounded by family. Sheba assists with a variety of Courtney's daily activities including hygiene and safely using transportation.

"Beyond her physical care, Sheba brings warmth and positivity to Court’s day—she has a special ability to make her smile," said Courtney's family. "We are beyond grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and peace of mind she has given us. Aveanna has been an absolute blessing to our family."

After 330 days in the hospital, this little warrior is finally home!

Born at just 27 weeks, Aveanna patient Joanna spent the very beginning of her life fighting and growing stronger in the NICU. Her parents and grandparents were by her side the entire time, spending countless hours at the hospital learning everything they could so they could be part of her care team once she arrived at home.

With the help of Nurse Lindsey and her Aveanna care team, that goal became a reality! What makes Joanna's homecoming even more special is that the nurses who now help care for her at home first met her in the NICU and were part of her journey there.

It’s an honor for our nurses to be welcomed into our families’ homes to care for these little fighters. Welcome home, Joanna!

Happy World Down Syndrome Day! This unique awareness day gives us the opportunity to spotlight all our patients living with Trisomy 21.

Aveanna patient Brody was born with Down Syndrome and Tracheobronchomalacia (TBM). After several procedures, he came home from the NICU with nursing care to begin his next adventure. That's when Aveanna nurse Rhonda came into his life, supporting his G-tube feedings, monitoring his oxygen, and ensuring he and his family had the resources they needed for each step of their journey.

"From the first day I met Brody, I recognized his determination, potential, and his big personality," said Rhonda. "Since we've worked together, he has mastered bottle feeding and has had his G-tube removed. He also no longer requires oxygen! He is exploring new foods, holding his own cup, becoming more mobile, and he is even starting to chase his shadows in the sun."

Brody's progress with Nurse Rhonda has not been lost on his family. Her steadfast support through every challenge and milestone has given his family the confidence in their loved one's future and his unique talents.

"Nurse Rhonda has encouraged him, celebrated every victory, and helped him work through each new challenge," said his parents. "Her patience, compassion, and commitment have meant more to our family than words can express."

On World Down Syndrome Day, we celebrate patients like Brody and the amazing caregivers who stand beside them. Thank you for your support and compassion!

Today, Aveanna is proud to show our support for our patients with Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards syndrome.

Aveanna patient Hadassa was born last August and lives with Trisomy 18, ventricular septal defect, and respiratory challenges. Her complex medical needs made home care a priority for her family when she was ready to come home from the hospital for the first time.

Her local Aveanna team wasted no time identifying a nurse who could provide the care Hadassa and her family needed. Nurse Rosario monitors her G-tube feedings and provides supplemental oxygen and nocturnal BiPAP support, all while nurturing Hadassa's development on her unique care journey. Her warmth, positivity, and knowledge gives Hadassa's family the peace of mind that their precious addition can stay safe at home where she belongs.

Today and every day, we celebrate patients like Hadassa and share our gratitude to the caregivers who stand beside them. Thank you for all you do!
