Because we are natural beings, the relationships we see in nature are also active within our beings. So, to nourish or assist in balancing internal harmonies I often use points that reflect elemental relationships. For example if you are having trouble with motivation and you know it is related to not being able to let go of an out-dated habit/situation/mindset I would stimulate the metal point on your wood channel (metal = letting go, clarifying the essential -> wood = growth, direction, motivation).
