Through one-on-one conversation and a variety of treatment modalities, we help people develop a strengths–based perspective to treatment, emphasizing resiliency, courage, empowerment, and creativity. Wendy Berman, LCSW-C, founder of The Trauma Resource, has helped people regain balance and fulfillment in their lives and relationships for over fifteen years. She specializes in trauma treatment, counseling clients with an array of techniques that help people learn and implement different coping skills to make positive changes in their lives. Wendy regularly helps clients work through: mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, problems at work or in personal relationships. She also works with survivors of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, and intimacy issues. Additional specialties include: women's issues, marital problems, dissociation, and challenging family relationships. She provides support and education about trauma through talk therapy and includes expressive therapies such as art, journaling, guided visual imagery, deep breathing exercises, and various other creative modalities. Wendy also concentrates on creating behavioral changes for clients using cognitive strategies to enhance coping skills and improve self-esteem, moving towards more satisfying relationships. As a licensed clinical social worker, Wendy earned her MSW from The University of Maryland School of Social Work.
