TechMix Tip 🐄
One thing I’ve learned is that calves don’t always tell you when they’re stressed, at least not right away.
I was always taught to watch for the little things. A calf that hangs back, doesn’t use drinking as aggressively, or just looks a little off. None of these seem like a big deal on their own, but that’s usually where it starts.
If you miss those signs, that’s when they begin to fall behind.
I’m a big believer in staying ahead of it instead of chasing it. Keep water clean and easy to find, handle them as calmly as possible, and give them support early, before they really need it.
Because with calves, it’s never just one bad day. It’s a bunch of small things adding up. And I’d rather stay ahead of that than try to catch up later.
