Our hearts are full. Things are so uncertain right now, especially for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. BUT, we’ve heard from SO. MANY. PEOPLE. asking how they can help.
The challenge: We are already gearing up for a very busy holiday season, donations are behind, and food cost is high. With the announcement that SNAP will be shut off on November 1 if the government shut down continues, there are a lot of people in our community who are scared and reaching out to find out what it looks like for them to come to Our Daily Bread.
The service: If you need groceries, we WANT YOU HERE. We are working so hard behind the scenes to make sure we are ready for whatever number of people need us. Can’t come shop or need extra food between shopping times? Emergency bags are always available. If you have questions about anything… How it works, the process, where to park, what food we have stocked, ANYTHING, please call us. We’re happy to talk through it. We know that asking for help isn’t easy. 405-533-2555.

If you’d rather give specific items, we have wishlists at both Walmart and Amazon that we keep current for needs on our shopping floor.

We’re also anticipating giving out a greater amount of emergency bags soon. We recycle donated T-shirts into T-shirt bags for this purpose. We have a lot of T-shirts. We need a lot of bags. If you have time on your hands, please let us know and we can give you some T-shirts to make into bags for us! No sewing required. Call 405-533-2555 to get connected for shirts!
UPDATE: as of Thursday morning, October 23, we are completely out of T-shirts to give. But if you want to make bags with clean t-shirts of your own, we are happy to email you instructions! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
