Today, on International Women’s Day—a global day dedicated to recognizing the achievements of women and advocating for the health and well-being of women everywhere—we are proud to celebrate a true trailblazer in our community: Dr. Cara Pence.

Dr. Pence is a Stillwater Medical physician, long-standing Foundation donor, and the inaugural recipient of our Women of Wellness Trailblazer Award, presented at CAMP WOW last fall.

A passionate advocate for women’s health, Dr. Pence emphasizes early detection and the importance of prioritizing personal well-being. That passion has already made a remarkable impact in our community. In early 2024, she rallied local partners to build a strong community presence for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just two years later, these efforts have tripled local mammogram numbers and expanded early detection education farther and wider than ever before.

Thank you, Dr. Pence, for your pioneering leadership and dedication to advancing women’s health. Your incredible servant heart has made—and continues to make—a lasting difference for women in our community and beyond.
