We are devastated to hear that so many needed programs have been cut due to the government pulling funding for mental health and substance abuse services. Phoenix does not run off grants and is not directly affected, but we stand behind our colleagues and pray this decision is reversed for the sake of our state and country.

During the strawberry festival carnival there is paid parking. If you’ve ever wondered where that money goes…. This is it! Proceeds from parking goes to help children and this Adair County Angel Tree program is one way volunteers do that. Tomorrow is the deadline and you can not sign up for both the Cherokee Nation angel tree and this angel tree. Lists will be cross referenced. They want to spread as much holiday gifts as possible. Just got this good news!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
We are pleased to announce that Adair County now has a DHS office for in person assistance - the office will be open on Tuesday and Thursday from 9-4 ( closed for lunch from 12-1) located at 716 S. 2nd Street, Stilwell, OK. This office will be able to assist with applications for SNAP benefits, child care and medical benefits.
