“You have a blood level not conducive to life.”

That’s what the doctor told me after looking at my bloodwork. It was 2015, and I was 29 years old. After months of heavy menstrual bleeding, I had finally gone to the doctor to get to the bottom of my issues. This was the beginning of my journey with uterine fibroids.

I was bleeding heavily for weeks but I normalized it. When I finally saw a doctor, I found that uterine fibroids were the cause.

A routine physical changed my life. It was 2017, and as I sat chatting with my doctor at my annual physical, she noticed that my stomach seemed a little bloated.
