Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a serious, chronic condition caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). HIV weakens the immune system, making it harder for the body to fight infections and disease. November is Epilepsy Awareness Month, an important time to boost awareness, educate the public, and advocate for increased funding and research on epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a brain disorder that triggers recurring, unprovoked seizures. It can result from various factors such as stroke, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, or infections of the central nervous system. The CDC estimates that approximately 3.4 million people in the US live with epilepsy, and about 456,000 of this number are children.

Aveanna is proud to support many individuals with epilepsy. Today is World Diabetes Day, a chance for us to educate our communities on diabetes and support those living with it.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot use insulin properly to regulate blood sugar levels. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body produces little to no insulin because the immune system attacks the cells that produce it. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, occurs when the body produces insulin, but the cells do not respond well to it.
