🎓Key Hunger Statistics (San Joaquin County & Stockton)

Food insecurity in Stockton and the broader San Joaquin County is higher than both California state and national averages, with local food banks reporting a 35% increase in demand in late 2025.

!!! Surging Demand: The Stockton Emergency Food Bank reported in November 2025 that they were serving roughly 678 cars per week, up from 450, representing a 35% increase in demand following SNAP (food stamp) cuts. !!!

Child Hunger: Roughly 20.3% of children in San Joaquin County are food insecure, a rate that indicates high local vulnerability compared to general population averages.

In 2024, 10.8% of San Joaquin County residents—more than 83,000 people—experienced food insecurity.

In 2026 many families are struggling to find resources - as simple as basic nutrition - as their providers have been unjustly detained.

Our emegency food pantry is meeting the basic needs of those living in a high needs area.

Rare opportunity for folks interested in a truly uplifting and therapeutic experience in Stockton CA.

Hi there! I'm Mary and I offer licensed and certified equine-assisted psychotherapy right here in San Joaquin County. That's psychotherapy for people which includes working with horses, being outdoors, and engaging with nature!

I typically serve people struggling with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, BPD, grief, self harm, and dissociative disorders. I am also adept at working with both neurotypical and neurodivergent folks.

Since I am welcoming Fionna Picchi (MSW student-intern) to my practice, we can now offer more sessions for kids, teens, adults, and families. Additionally there are new play and movement therapies available!

Starting to take down names for those who might be interested in attending a Disability Support Group (online). Folks in both Utah and California are welcome.

All reasonable accommodations will be made for those who may need help accessing this group.

Of course, sharing your name and interest is not a commitment to attending

Insurance will generally cover group therapy, with some exceptions (you may have a copay). For those who are unable to use insurance, I am offering a $35 dollar out of pocket fee.

Groups will likely run every other week to space out payments for out of pocket payers. (Group participants must pay for all groups in a series - even if missing one session. Groups generally run for eight sessions).

Disability is a broad word. Whether physical, emotional, or other - all are welcome to this group.

Individuals who might be better served by in-person, activity based, or equine-assisted groups can put their names on an alternative list for more adaptive groups which will be initiated based on the number of potential participants. The same is true for children or teens are interested in participating in similar groups.
