I was certified in spotting skin cancer almost 8 years ago by this amazing organization. Am I a doctor? No. But I can definitely give you advice on if I see something I feel deems fit for a dermatology appointment. I have been right more than wrong and maybe even saved a couple lives along the way. Keep track of your moles, how they change, and know the ABCDE's of skin cancer.
A - asymmetry: One half of the lesion does not match the other half.
B - border: Irregular, scalloped, or blurred edges.
C - color: Variations in color, such as brown, black, red, white, or blue.
D - diameter: Lesions larger than 6 millimeters (about the size of a pencil eraser).
E - evolving: Changes in size, shape, or color over time.

Dear Gentleman,
I feel like out here in our more rural areas, there's some kind of stigma with men and self-care. "It's not manly", "That's chick stuff", "I'd feel weird". I know a lot of men who get body massages so I know, if they just gave it a shot, they would probably love it, maybe even more! Taking care of your skin is a big deal! If you have been a farmer, landscaper, truck driver, roofer, in road construction, etc. You should be even more proactive when it comes to your skin because of the elements and UV exposure. The men who are slaves to a desk job with bad posture and blue light damage, should also be concerned about their skin. Skincare isn't just for women or anti-aging. It's protecting the largest organ and armour of defense! 💪👨‍⚕️☀️
