High Ground Burial Cemetery 1784-1850 It is believed that this burial site is the earliest frontier settlement cemetery in Alabama.

Fevers and accidents were major causes of death of the 39 confirmed burials at this site, 16 are believed to be children. The dead were wrapped in their death blankets and buried in their earthen graves very soon after their death...

I really wish this cemetery could get back to the way it use to be! This is a very import place for many of the early families of Baldwin County, Alabama...
