Arms Around Atlas We are coming together to support Atlas Walter Hopkins and his loving parents Kimi and Nick. They need our love and support.

Kimi and Nick Hopkins are expecting their first bundle of joy, a baby boy who they are naming Atlas Walter Hopkins, due early October of 2015. This past Monday, during Kimi's 36 week routine doctors appointment, they were informed that baby Atlas has a heart defect. Kimi and Nick were sent to San Antonio to see a specialist who only confirmed their devestating news. They traveled to Houston for more doctors appointments and even more devestating news. Atlas heart is not like a normal heart. Kimi and Nick have been in Houston for the last week waiting to see a specialist on Monday for a second opinion. They have been told that if Atlas survives birth, he will have to undergo at least four open heart surgeries within a few days after his birthday. There are no words for what Kimi and Nick are going through. There is no reason for why this happened to them. All we can do right now is help them anyway we can. We are asking for your love, support and donation to help pay for their medical bills, lodging and anything else they could possibly need during this time. Sister Ava, and Atlas with cousin Vance in Tulsa for mom’s class reunion. Great fun at the Gathering Place and then the Discovery Lab Friday, OU game Saturday. They played hard and broke the eardrums of the adults. What fun!

Well big week for Little man! He had a echo and cardiology appointment on Monday. His cardiologist said his heart looks better than it did six months ago! Yeah!!! Successful Fontan!
Today we celebrated his birthday at the park. He will be 5 years old Tuesday! Wow, 5 years, thank you lord for answered prayers.

So much for sticking to sternal precautions. At least we don’t pull up on things.... only 2 weeks left!

Sorry for a gap in posting. We are doing well! Kimi starts back at work Thursday. Nick is busy doing home improvements and planting a fall garden for KENA Farms. Ava is crawling now! She weighs 23 lbs, which compared to her brother’s 33lbs, is a little lead ball.

Now for our heart warrior. He his doing good. Still on sternal precautions and crowd avoiding. He is walking and running without having to stop and catch his breath! We are on twice a day lasix but will be going down to once a day at the end of the month. We go back to the cardiologist near the beginning of October for a repeat echo and look for effusions. Here’s a post of him choosing his own outfits and pushing his sister in her swing. All is good!
