Every week I try to call my legislators about things that matter to me.

This week I called about protecting funding and access to gender affirming care.

Specifically, I called my federal Senators about these 2 bills that have already passed the house, H.R. 3492 the "Protect Children's Innocence Act" and H.R.498 the "Do No Harm in Medicaid Act." Despite their deceivingly sappy and wholesome names, they both would unnecessarily ban (even criminalize) health care for transgender Americans.

IMO, congress should be working to /increase/ access and lower costs for /all/ Americans, not attack a vulnerable population and block them from life-saving care.

I encourage you to call your Senators as well. If it seems daunting or you don't know where to start, the app 5 Calls is really helpful.

Hey friends! I'm so excited to be hosting a meet-and-greet for my friend on Februaty 21.

He's a wonderful, progressive human running for Governor of Connecticut, and this is your opportunity to hang out and get to know him, ask your big and small questions, and get a feel for this guy who has been, and will continue to help shape our state into one that cares for all who love here.

The LaGrua center has dedicated parking and is wheelchair accessible. The event is free, donations to Josh's campaign are encouraged. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Q***ring Disability is coming back, y'all!

I'm SO EXCITED to be partnering with Crip Care: A Radical Disability Justice Project and Stonington Pride to bring life back to this amazing group.
We're going to be building a truly intersectional, grassroots community of advocates and activists, rooted in the principles of disability justice, who want to learn about policy and legislation here in Connecticut, and who want to get involved in making change for our communities.

Our first meeting, which will be a primer, a "what we're doing, a bit of the basics, and what do YOU want from this?" kind of a thing, will be on Thursday, January 8, 6:30p.

Every week I try to call my legislators about something I care about.
This week I called about extending the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits.

Specifically, I asked my federal legislators to support a clean extension of the ACA premium tax credits, and to oppose any bill that includes abortion or gender affirming care restrictions.

It's important that Congress act now to protect affordable health care before costs skyrocket and absolutely devastate millions of Americans. And not throwing trans folks, cis people who take advantage of gender affirming care, and people with uteruses under the bus is a MUST!

I encourage you to call your legislators about things that matter to you, too! That's what they're there for. If it seems daunting (I get it), the free app 5 Calls is super helpful. Check it out!
