Hey friends! I'm so excited to be hosting a meet-and-greet for my friend Josh Elliott on February 21.

He's a wonderful, progressive human running for Governor of Connecticut, and this is your opportunity to hang out and get to know him, ask your big and small questions, and get a feel for this guy who has been, and will continue to help shape our state into one that cares for all who love here.

The La Grua Center has dedicated parking and is wheelchair accessible. The event is free, donations to Josh's campaign are encouraged. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Please rsvp if you can at JoshForCT.com so I can get a headcount 😁

Every week I try and call my legislators about things that matter to me.

This week, I called my federal Senators and Congressman to ask them to oppose ICE's continual attacks on immigrants and citizens alike, and to hold this administration accountable for their unlawful, authoritarian actions.

Specifically, I asked that they:
🧊 demand full investigations into ICE's use of deadly use of force against protesters and their murders of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and the others whose names haven't made the front pages,
🧊 refuse to pass any DHS appropriations bill that maintains ANY funding for ICE,
🧊 call for/support the impeachment of Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. Because obviously.

I encourage you to call your elected officials and tell them how you feel about this issue, as well. If it feels overwhelming, the free app 5 Calls really helps

I shared the news a while back that I was elated that I was appointed as an alternate to the K-12 Building Committee. We had our first meeting on Tuesday January 6 at 5pm. That evening, I was unanimously voted in as the committees recording secretary!

It's a big job, and a decent learning curve, but I'm really excited for it. What a lovely way to get to serve my fellow committee members and my community.

Please feel free to join us at future meetings. We meet the 1st Tuesday of the month at 5pm in the Stonington Police Department community room. Meetings should always be on the town calendar, and I will always try to post timely updates. My minutes will also be up on the website, after they go to the clerk.

These meetings are not currently being recorded, but some pressure on the town could change that :)

is going to Get Fired Up on February 15 at 1pm. Join us!

Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/sp-firedup so we can give them a headcount.

Everyone is fiscally responsible for their own pieces, but they start at $1 and there's no studio fee, so this will hopefully be very accessible to everyone 😊

Every week I try and call my legislators about something that matters to me.

This week I called my federal senators and congressman to ask them to defund ICE.

Specifically, I asked them to make efforts to defund ICE by opposing any DHS appropriations bill that maintains ICE funding, as well as asking them to support legislation that would start chipping away at the $75 BILLION slush fund that was created for ICE by H.R. 1 last year.

ICE has become a completely lawless agency that is not only terrorizing but causing physical harm and loss of life to immigrants and citizens alike. Any agency behaving like this should be fully defunded and dissolved.

I encourage you to call your legislators and let them know how you feel about this, and other issues. If it feels overwhelming, the free app 5 Calls is really helpful!
