Smithtown High School East and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital are taking e-bike safety seriously. 🚴‍♂️

As e-bike use continues to rise, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital recently partnered with Smithtown High School East on a student led e-bike safety presentation. Stony Brook’s Jamie Ryan also joined local law enforcement leaders to share expert insight on injury prevention and real-world safety concerns. The presentation emphasized responsible riding and helmet use, highlighting that more than 20,000 people are injured on e-bikes each year and many injured riders were NOT wearing a helmet. In Suffolk County, the legal age to operate an e-bike is 16 years old.

We’re proud to partner with schools to help protect kids and families in our community. ❤️
