🚑 Joint Youth Squad MCI Drill!

Last night, the Stony Point Ambulance Corps and Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps youth squads came together for a joint Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) drill!

Members worked in mixed teams to practice triaging patients, managing scenes, and learning how EMS providers handle large-scale emergencies. After the simulation, advisors walked the squads through some of the treatments typically given to patients based on their triage categories.

Great job to all the youth members who participated — teamwork and learning like this prepare our future EMTs for real-world scenarios! 👏💙

Special thanks to New York State Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association - Pulse Check President Henry Ehrhardt for stopping by and speaking on Youth Involvement in NYS EMS!

🚑 Trainee Tuesday (on a Wednesday)!

Meet Dominick Tirri (16)!

Dominick joined the Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps a year and a half ago after seeing his sister go to meetings — and what started as curiosity quickly became one of the best decisions he’s made. 💪

His advice to anyone thinking about joining?
“Come out and try it! It’s a lot of fun — you’ll learn a lot of new things, meet amazing people, and make lifelong friends.” 🙌

Outside of S**C, Dom is a member of the National Honor Society, Wayne Hose Company #1 Stony Point Fire Dept, and plays football and lacrosse for North Rockland Central School District. 🏈🥍

When he’s not on the field or helping out, you can probably catch him playing a game of ping pong! (which his fellow Youth Squad Captain always beats him in!)🏓

We’re proud to have Dom as part of our team and can’t wait to see where his dedication takes him!

🚨 Member Monday: Meet Christopher Rao (21)!

Christopher first joined Stony Point Ambulance Corps as a Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps member back in 2019!

As Christopher says, “I love our community and medicine, and I felt like the best way to give back was by combining the two and volunteering for the Ambulance Corps.” 🚑

For anyone unsure about joining, his advice is:
“Taking risks is a part of the job. Doing new things and taking opportunities will help you succeed.” 🙌

Outside of S**C, Christopher stays busy studying biomedical science in college at Marist College, preparing for the MCAT, caring for his many pets, and gardening with his mom. 🐾

🌍 Fun fact: He spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy! 🇮🇹

We’re proud to spotlight Christopher this Member Monday and celebrate his dedication to learning, growth, and service! 💪

Today, S**C attended the 4th Annual Back the Blue Car Show in memory of Joey Zask, one of our own who was lost in the line of duty.

Hosted by Road Revival, Project Thank a Cop, and LEO Weekend, this event held in Joey’s memory raises funds to support law enforcement charities and public service workers in need.

This marks our fourth year supporting this incredible cause and standing beside the Zask family. Joey’s memory continues to live on through the lives he touched and the community that carries his spirit forward.

🚑 Trainee Tuesday! Meet Victoria Rojas (17)!

Victoria joined Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps in 2023 to give back to the community and learn the basics of EMS — experience that’s been preparing her for her current EMT course. 💙

Her advice to anyone thinking about joining:
“I would say definitely join. It’s something different and interesting that can be applied to all aspects of your life. It’s really fun and you’ll meet new people. At first I didn’t know I wanted to become an EMT, but after being part of the Youth Corps I realized this is something I want to pursue further.” 🙌

Outside of S**C, Victoria keeps busy playing lacrosse, serving as the Executive Officer of her school’s NJROTC unit, and going to the gym. 🥍💪

🎬 Fun fact: Her favorite movie is A Bronx Tale!

We’re so proud to have Victoria on our team and can’t wait to see all she’ll accomplish in EMS!

🚑 Member Monday! Meet Eddie Fox III!

Eddie has been a proud member of Stony Point Ambulance Corps for over 22 years — 18 years as an EMT. He has also spent 14 years working as a paramedic.

He joined S**C after developing an early love for the medical field, drawn by the excitement of the lights and sirens and the ability to help others. As Eddie says, “There really is no greater comforting feeling than going somewhere and having the training to help someone at a moment’s notice.” 💙

To anyone thinking about joining, Eddie shares:
“It may be overwhelming at first and at times scary for a newcomer, but we are one big family and support system. We’ll teach you to crawl before you walk, and to walk before you can run — and before you know it, you’ll be running marathons leaving your positive mark on everyone you meet.” 🙌

Outside of S**C, Eddie enjoys spending time with his two young boys, working on model trains, doing mechanical work on cars, and unwinding upstate. 🚗🌲

🎸 Fun fact: Eddie once joined ’80s rocker Bret Michaels live on stage for his song “Something to Believe In!”

We’re proud to spotlight Eddie this Member Monday and thank him for his years of service and dedication! 💪

Over the past week, businesses across North Rockland, particularly along the 9W corridor, donated more than $400 in gift cards, certificates, and discounted services to help us recognize members who have stood out or stepped up. 🙌

Many have already been distributed to our members, to their surprise and excitement!

At a time when many of these businesses are affected by the ongoing construction, their generosity means even more. Many of our members are regular patrons of these establishments, and as they continue to support us, we encourage you to do the same.

👉 If you’re in the area, make a stop, grab something delicious, and support our local businesses!

Thank you, Stony Point and North Rockland, for always standing behind your first responders.
